Skygenius 8x21 Compact Binoculars: Lightweight and Portable for Concerts, Theaters, and Operas

KR: First of all my primary use for these binoculars are for theater glasses. I purchased both these and the older version for $10 less as I couldn't see the differences on the listings. The older version is smaller (shorter and narrower and lighter than the updated version, however both fit into a shirt pocket. Older version a little more comfortably. Both come with a case and cleaning cloth. Updated version comes with lens caps, but difficult to put on but not impossible. Both sets have the same magnification 8x21. The updated version is able to capture more light so the image appears clearer with slightly more detail, but the older version is still very good. This light capture is the main difference I saw in comparing the two. In one sense I thought it worth the $10 extra for theater applications, but on the flip side that $10 is 60% more which I don't feel the updated version is 60% better. I ended up going with the updated version.

Rosebead: I bough direct from Amazon and not a marketplace seller. It's a decent enough pair of binoculars but the clarity of the image would have been even better if it had been coated with superior Bak4 coating as was advertised instead of with Bak7 coating which is what I received.

Brad: Very light weight. Easy to fit into pants pocket. Quality is very good too. Not cheap or flimsy.

Nightflyer9: Clear optics for being so inexpensive. Requires a small diopter adjustment when changing focus from close to far and back, but not a reason to dislike them (two other people verified this so it wasn't just my old tired eyes). It would be nice if they had 4 lens covers rather than just 2, and it would also help if the string could be removed when desired. Light, compact, functional and easy to keep on hand.

DBDB: I'm really pleased with these. They are super compact (see the pictures). The zoom is great. I am just starting birding so I wanted to get something entry-level that I could keep with me constantly. They are small and fit easily in my pocket so I can take advantage of impromptu birding opportunities. The visuals are clear and adjustments are simple to make. Would recommend!

KristinaKristina: I had bought these for my son as he likes to pretend to be an adventurer and thought they were cheap enough but still not a toy so he would get a kick out of them. As soon as these came in he kept asking who they were for I had told him I needed to look at them but to calm down a bit the pic where I took it looking through the binoculars I was about 16 feet away from it. These are way better then I expected. I am very happy with this purchase but I am even more happy that my little adventurer is over the moon that he got real binoculars and can see things from really far away. These would work great for adults that want something that is light weight that actually works how it should it will also not break the bank
