SkyGenius 10x25 Small, Lightweight Binoculars

TaraBear: Purchased these binoculars prior to my Alaskan Cruise at the recommendation of a friend who said they were a great compact binoculars with great magnification. These binos are small and fit nicely in backpack or comfortably in a coat pocket. They come with a neck strap which came in handy while I was walking the cruise ship deck with these, my phone and an IPAD in hand trying to take pictures and view the beauty of Alaska. Very please with the clarity and how far I could see with these all things considered. If you are looking for a reasonably priced and easily transportable pair of decent binoculars, I would give these consideration.

Steph: These definitely are going to take some practicing and getting used to. You must get used to holding still when looking far away. Me and mom like UFO hunting with these and we've already seen a few strange things! Very clear and can view a good distance.

Neff Fam: Originally I rated these as 5 star. However, it has only been a few months and one of the magnifying pieces fell out. We found after a thorough search of our condo. We were able to place it back in since the piece fell out at home. Had it come out while we were in the outdoors it would have been long lost.

TonyTony: I bought these as a gift and had a limited time to test them before passing them along, but I was very impressed. I already own another pair of budget binoculars, but at a slightly higher price range: the Bushnell H2O series. These are another popular model on Amazon available frequently on sale for $50, give or take. For comparison, I got the Skygenius for $13 on sale. I'm comparing these two products -- the Bushnell H2O and the Skygenius -- to tell you if it's worth the extra cash to bump up one level in price.

Optics
The Bushnell and the Skygenius are very close in optical quality in my quick testing, i.e. looking through them back to back for 5 mins. What's interesting is the Bushnell are 8x magnification and the Skygenius are 10x, but from my perspective they magnified about the same. I don't know which one is the culprit here as I don't have any other pairs to compare them against.

Build Quality
The materials used in both the Bushnell and Skygenius are a rubberized texture and feel of similar quality. Both come with a canvas case and those also seem about the same quality to me. The Bushnell come with a slightly nicer strap that widens...

GirishGirish: First of all before we need to consider that this is a budget binocular and one should not compare this with expensive one. Considering this I would like to give my opinion regarding its pros and cons.

Good points about this
1. Price
2. Pocket size, you can carry it in your jacket pocket or any big pocket shorts. Else you can clip it to your belt. It is Light weight.
3. Good 10X magnification as mentioned in the specification. Clear image at center and overall good image quality.
4. BAK 4 Prism gives brighter image.
5. Easy and smooth focus adjustment and adjust right side eyepiece for any vision difference between both eyes.
6. Easy for kids as the distance between the two lens can be adjusted

Things can be improved
1. There is no gas filled inside. Few experts says if no gas inside in can be fogged from inside in humid condition.
2. No lens cap
3. Rubber around eyepiece is not of good quality.
4.Exit Pupil size not mentioned in specification, which determines the brightness in the dark.
