SKIL 3821-01 12-Inch Quick Mount Compound Miter Saw with Laser Guide for Accurate Cuts

Amazon Customer: I got into woodworking and DIY stuff this year. After lots of research I went with this miter saw because it offers a lot for not much money. I do a project usually once a weekend or every other weekend, and typically involves the use of this miter saw.

I had to calibrate it myself a little bit after delivery but it was pretty close from the factory. The LED cut line is amazing. You can effortlessly get super accurate cuts using it.

Also the 40T blade it comes with is pretty decent. Highly recommend this saw for a weekend DIYer.

HoraceHorse: Familiar with Skil products, saw this on offer here on Amazon. Looked like the competition was all over this niche of the miter saw market, and so $200 and a bit for this lovely machine. My old saw, Ryobi, seen better days and did not have the slider on it. No brainer on the Skil, have a 7 1/2 inch corded construction saw from way back, and before it a yard sale Skilsaw almost as old as I! They say the world was built with Skilsaws, I know it to be true. My first encounter with one was in the 1960s, what a roarer they were. This model lives up to the reputation. Everything is just perfect, no complaints at all, very, very happy. One gotcha on these, there is the bevel setting, if you need it; it is locked on 0 degrees by a big red thumb screw on back of the saw. You'll need to make sure that is tight because unlike other brands, Ryobi is one, the Skil does not have a dead click stop on zero. It sort of 'falls in' at zero. Be sure to set there and lock tight before moving on. Love this brand, only wish right now is a 40 tooth fine finish replacement blade as I worked the edge a little on the one supplied. Kristi Parrella: I’ve had this saw for a year and it continues to be able to handle whatever I throw at it. Powerful enough for framing lumber but also precise enough for trim work. Very accurate, smooth on the rails and bevel adjustments. If you are a homeowner/DIYer this saw is an incredible value. It has all the features of products that are 1.5x more expensive.

My only suggestion is I wish there were crown stops that could fit on it (I was hoping to save space by getting rid of my nesting jig).

The stock blade is ok which is typical for most stock blades. I got an 80 tooth makita blade and it cuts very smooth.

All in all very happy with the purchase. Definitely an underrated player in the 10 in slider market

Michael M: I bought this saw after using a hand me down Delta miter saw. After fighting with the Delta to get consistent cuts I left the last job refusing to use the Delta again. I read a bunch of reviews and went with this saw.
The skill 10 inch saw fit my needs the best. It had the lighter weight for portability and the ability to cut deep pieces of wood. Setting the saw up was easy. I was a little disappointed it didn't take longer because I didn't have any projects lined up and was hoping to play with the saw more. Once it was set up, the ability to reproduce a beveled cut accurately was a welcome pleasure. I was able to cut a 12 1/2 inch piece of ply for a shelf to hold the saw. The saw is very smooth. I get great cuts. I do like the shadow line, but it does need to be a bit dark to use it, forget about using that feature outside in the day. The dust collection is decent, but I do most of my cutting outside as I don't have a dust collection system in place. The dust catch on the saw seems effective, but I haven't had taken the time to study it. I am more concerned keeping my fingers clear of the blade than where the chips are flying. Richard Albanese: Compared to my 20 yr old Delta miter saw, this saw is a dream. Compared to other saws with the same features, you can’t beat the price in any big box store especially with a respected brand such as Skil.

The box arrived quickly and the saw was well packaged and protected inside. Only a couple minor assembly steps needed to affix the clamp and dust bag. Out of the box accuracy was right on the money in most axes, though I have not yet checked the bevel angles. The manual has very detailed instructions on how to tune this unit in, but I found I did not need to do any.

Only a couple things to note which knocked off one star. 1) as other reviewers have noted, connection to a vacuum took some rigging since the dust bag attachment outlet is 1.5” OD, meaning my 1.5” OD ‘standard’ hose would not fit. (In general I wish industry would standardize these things better and I hate using multiple adapters to get things to connect). Anyway, some jury rigging and gorilla tape got my vacuum hose connected. 2) even with my shop vac running, the dust collection is not that great and this guy can throw a lot of dust around. 3) the shadow line is cool and even...

Cliente de Amazon: Soy un carpintero hobbista, vi mil reviews para por fin decidirme a comprar una sierra de inglete y de todas las marcas, esta tenía el mejor precio (además la conseguí en oferta) por las caracteristicas que tiene y la calidad de materiales.

Cortes perfectos sin necesidad de ajustar nada.
El disco de corte que trae deja los cortes muy prolijos.
Los materiales de primera calidad.
El motor es brushless.

En fin, una muy buena compra para quieres vamos empezando en la carpinteria, quizá para el profesional les quede corta pero evidentemente no es el publico al que esta dirigido este articulo.

Rbn DI Hdez: Me gustó las características y especificaciones de esta sierra. La posición del motor respecto al disco permite el doble bisel y es bastante cómoda de maniobrar. La adquirí pq tenía un buen precio y además porque tengo varias herramientas de la misma marca. La guía LED es bastante precisa pero sólo en ambientes cerrados o con luz artificial, en lugares muy iluminados convendría una guía láser aunque ello supone calibración para mejor exactitud. Algo importante a mencionar es que no recuerdo si cuenta con freno eléctrico de disco, pero hay ocasiones en que sí se siente que frena luego de dejar de apretar el gatillo y otras veces sólo deja de girar por inercia. Si piensas montarla en una mesa exclusiva para la sierra hay que considerar que al ser telescópica la longitud mínima es de 90cms de ancho. Mientras que una sierra de inglete simple puede ir montada en mesa de 50cms.
