Scott: As said. Right out of the box, amazing.

I was scared I was going to be brought up on war crimes charges with the genocide of flies that followed.

In the years that followed it feel into disuse, till eventually it sat on the shelf. Guess the word was out, the flies knew. GTFO.

After a few years of sitting I attempted to pick it up and take out a fly that had ventured in. It no longer works sadly.

I'm not sure what the issue is, as I haven't pulled it apart yet.

Ron Singleton: Wow, this was the most exciting and useful item I think I ever ordered. This took the war between man and housefly out of the dark ages and into the future. To be honest I didn't expect this weapon of mass destruction to be the actual highlight of 2020 for me. Yes like so many others living in these dark times small things can hold a surprisingly large amount of happiness. My bug-a-salt rifle gave me an advantage over my sworn enemy. Florian M.: Obwohl ich im vierten Stock wohne, werde ich immer wieder in meiner Wohnung von allen möglichen fliegenden Plagegeistern heimgesucht. Gegen Fliegen und Spinnen habe ich nichts, die wurden bisher von mir eingefangen und in die Freiheit entlassen, per Freiflug übers Balkongeländer. Aber bei allem, was größer ist, gehe ich freiwillig auf Abstand. Nennt man Phobie, und bringt einem immer wieder ungewollte Lacher ein. Damit sollte endlich mal Schluss sein.

Zuerst hab ichs mit einer elektrischen Fliegenklatsche versucht. Das Ding hat die Größe eines Tennisschlägers, bei einem Treffer in der Luft knallt es ganz ordentlich. Kleinere Ziele werden pulverisiert, die Größeren fliegen dann schon mal in mehreren Stücken brennend durch die Gegend. Und zusätzlich musste ich immer noch recht nah an meine Nemesis heran.

Dann traf ich auf Youtube auf eine Bewertung dieser Schrotflinte - und habe einfach zugegriffen. Kurze Zeit später hielt ich sie dann in meinen Händen. Charlie Plezz: Had to hide this product from my kids so they wouldn’t shoot each other in the face. A Few hours later, an ill fated target crossed my path while I was heading to the kitchen. I threw my hair in a pony tail, put my black suit over a white tee shirt, and grabbed the guitar case where I hid the Bug-A-Salt. I waited patiently in the dark corner of my living room for hours. Finally, movement. I stalked slowly behind the target until it landed. As I brought the sights to eye level, it was as if time was slowing down. I could see every stroke of the fly’s wings as I smoothly and evenly pulled the trigger. Mission accomplished, target down.

Neighbors entered my home as I was sterilizing the scene. Bug-A-Salt being a human safe product, I had no option but to tell them of my feat. They asked if I could help with a problem they were having in their home. I grabbed my guitar case and headed over. Within a few short minutes, my mission was accomplished.

News of my success spread like wild fire. I began getting emails for my wet work. They called my phone. They showed up at my house. I wanted out, but I had come too far.

J.G.: Als erstes muss man dem Ding attestieren, dass es relativ wertig aussieht und sich auch dementsprechend bedienen lässt. Man traut dem "ihm" eine relativ lange Lebensdauer zu. kleines Manko ist die Abzugssicherung, die vor jedem Schuss gelöst werden muss. Diese ist teils etwas uneindeutig von der Bedienung her (sehr zierlich und wenig robust gebaut), so dass man nur in 80% der Fälle sicher sein kann, dass sich ein Schuss auslösen lässt. Aber vielleicht bin ich auch noch nicht ganz warm mit der Mechanik. Man sollte beispielsweise nicht vergessen den Spannschlitten nach dem spannen wieder in die Ausgangsposition zu bringen, denn dann ist ein Schuss nicht möglich. Nachtrag einige Wochen nach dem "Warmwerdem": Die Schusssicherung ist kein Problem mehr.

Der Munitionsbehälter lässt keine Fragen offen und lässt sich s
auber öffnen, füllen und verschliessen. Er ist absolut lecksicher.

Aber von vorne...bestellt habe ich mir das Ding eigentlich weil wir kurz vor den Feiertagen auf einmal in der Küche einen Schwarm lästiger Fluggeräte hatten. Irgendwo habe ich mich dunkel daran erinnert dass es da so ne salzknarre gab, also auf nach amazonien und siehe da: version2.0 ist verfügbar. Also her mit dem Ding. .... ein Erfahrungsbericht.

Nach gewohnt schneller Lieferung (Danke Amazon) kam eine relativ unspektakuläre, aber mehr als brauchbare Box mit dem salzbeschleuniger bei mir an, siehe Bilder. Also fix ausgepackt. Fühlt sich an wie ne normale wasserspritzpistole, im großen und ganzen aber sehr Wertig.
Anleitung dazu auf der Rückseite der Box, zwar nur in englisch, aber gut bebildert, was auch dem nicht englischsprachigen Benutzer in jedem Fall zum gewünschten Erfolg verhilft.
Bedienung: denkbarst einfach. Eine kleine Menge Salz (ich würde ca 1 - 2 gehäufte Esslöffel schätzen) ins vordere Reservoir gefüllt, Deckel gut schließen, durchladen, entsichern , zielen, Fliege entsorgen. Tatsächlich so simpel. Das Ding hat auf unsere Pest (Stubenfliegen in der Größe von ca 6-8 mm) einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen....

TheTruth: First off, Be careful of the sellers. If you see a copy for 1/3 the going price - beware. I bought one from one of those "first time sellers" with no feedback and it never came, seller was a scam artist out of China. I did manage to get in an order to a legit seller eventually though.

The product is excellent. Much better than a fly swatter. Around here we are plagued with 2 types of insect these days. Some little bugs which are almost like specs - some people call them fruit flies, others use the term - no see ums. In addition I get a lot of moths coming to my window at night as well.

This thing hits a lot of bugs that move too quickly to hit otherwise. And it is excellent for getting rid of any type. When I've tried to whack the little ones which seem to like the washroom (I suspect they live in the sewers and come up through the sink and tub) (would explain why we get them not only in summer but in the dead of winter when it's -40 outside and there is 4 feet of snow on the ground) using something like a roll of toilet paper (they tend to love landing on the mirror) they often move at the last second.
