WIDI: My goddaughter (age 9) is a gymnast & loves Simone Biles. Got her this for her birthday & she has read it multiple times already. In a world that doesn’t have enough books for female athletes, I was so glad to find this.

Profile: I’ve bought almost all of these books and our daughters love them.
Pros: age appropriate, easy for 6-9 year olds to understand and read.
So far no scary details or bias agendas.
Color pictures.
Organized layout & summary style paragraphs.

The serious is new so hopefully they’ll become more inclusive of the arts and innovation. Kids get enough of boring history in school. So far this series seems to be simultaneously covering old history but also capturing the biographies of some fascinating people who are contributing to the future. Let’s inspire kids.

This book has it all - Rachelle Burk transforms Simone Biles' inspiring and incredible story into words and illustrations that young girls and boys will understand and internalize to feel confident, empowered and open-minded. Through this story of hardship and hard work, Burk goes further to spark the understanding of new words and explore critical thinking through interactive think-tank questions.

As someone who was a little girl during the 1996 Olympics, I only wish I could have had a book like this. One of the many important messages is about making your own decisions and feeling empowered to do so. I so enjoyed reading this and can only imagine how many young girls - and young boys - will take this in and know that being like Simone Biles isn't just about winning gold medals - it's about winning at life.

Worth the purchase - for adults or kids! Would make a great holiday gift as well.
