Mary Lynne Jarvis: I like that it is easy to set the time, easy to read, and has a night button to push to see the face in the dark. I also like that it’s quiet. It isn’t beautiful but it is functional. I like the square shape.

Haystacks Calhoun: I used to use a sun dial for a clock but it took me a while to realize it didn’t work at night. So I bought a quaint looking alarm clock from LL Bean. Sadly, it was a piece of junk and finally broke, so I needed another one. After all, when I get up at night to use the bathroom it is imperative that I know what time it is. I threw my hands up and went to Amazon where there were so many to choose from I suffered from vertigo for days. Once I got my balance I selected this one. When it arrived I was surprised at how big it was! I told my wife it was a clock for the visually impaired. But I am nearsighted so it really helps. It’s kind of big, but it’s very light. Works great.

SB: I purchased this clock for a relative who is a senior. She has very poor vision and could not see a wall clock across her room. It is very easy to read with large numbers and clear black & white definition of numbers and minute/hour hands. It is much easier to read than a digital clock since even if a person can't see the numbers, she/he will be able to see the hands and know approximately what time it is. Digital numbers can look alike with blurred vision so this is a great alternative.

It is basic with set time, set alarm, turn alarm on/off controls on the back. It is silent which is important for anyone who is bothered by a ticking clock. The biggest negative for me is that the labels on the controls are very hard to read and are small. This probably is not a big issue for 95% of users but for someone with poor vision it requires a magnifying glass or for someone else to do it for them. That's why I gave "easy to use" 4 stars instead of 5.

It is large so I wouldn't consider this a travel clock. It's lightweight though so I gave it 3 stars for that category.

Clock arrived on time and in good packaging too. FYI it needs a AA battery...
