Slssij: Our original window piece broke and I didn't realize you could by replacements until I decided to check here. So thankful for this, because we were using a piece of Styrofoam and duct tape. Which meant there wasn't an option to take it our of the window & put it back in easily. This solved that problem. Extra pieces if your window is wider (we used it in a regular window - not sliding glass door). Easy to put together.

Isabel: Had to tape the hose into the holder, and reinforce the holder into the window piece. The window piece is solid and the foam is helpful

Ken WaldieKen Waldie: This product worked for me but there are flaws in the design and buyers should be prepared for a bit of work to install it. It isn't realistic to expect any kit to work easily for every door, and there are inherent challenges in making these relatively flimsy panels secure enough to seal the inevitable air gaps without disabling the door with duct tape or something similar.

The first challenge was that the panel with the hole for the air vent is within 1" of the hole needed for the metal connecting hardware (see photo). This means that you can't connect that end of the panel, so the air vent must be on the bottom. This must be a design error since it would have been easy to move the hole another inch or two away from the end of the panel. As a result there are problems securing the hose to the exhaust fitting which has only a 1" tube, too short to clear the door molding on either the side or the bottom (another design flaw).

I was able to secure the panel by shaving plastic off with a utility knife so it would force-fit inside the door latch mechanism (see photo) and also into the metal channels at the bottom. At the top I put in a wood screw at an angle using a...

CreepyUncleIdjit: The original kit that came with my air conditioner was way too short to fit my window. Apparently air conditioner manufacturers think no window should be more than 2 ft tall. Works great, remains stable, and is a decent price.

MISBY: The panels themselves are fine and it all assembled fairly quickly. But the little snap on flanges that attach the hose ring to the panel are flimsy and you'll probably end up taping it out of frustration of getting it to stay up. It hasn't broken, the clips just aren't strong enough to hold up the weight of the hose. Eh, these are all probably from the same manufacturer in China so this one is probably as good as any other. At least it was reasonably priced and arrived quickly.
