Donna: I have always depended on the cable TV box in my bedroom for the time in the dark. Spectrum upgraded the boxes and they don't have clocks. I had purchased three other clocks before this Sharp. One did not have a backlight. One just didn't work. The other needed to be tapped for the light to come on. Sharp is backlit perpetually, controls on the front and marked in English, clear easy to read. Great.

It's American!: For me the clock itself is fine with its simple functions and large display.
However, I was shocked to discover it has a north American 2 pin plug which I will now have to buy an adapter costing me £8+
...and then I'm not even sure the clock is going to work?

Crescentan: This is a nicely designed even elegant clock with an array of easily accessed control buttons right up front and a super large, highly visible display. I got it for my wife and she loves it. The display is easily legible and the lowest of the dimming settings suits her well. It's a bit too bright for me and acts somewhat like a night light over in that corner of the room, but I'm far enough away from it for it not to be much of an issue. There may in fact be no way to reconcile extra large LED digits with a display as darkened as I'd like it. Altogether then, on balance, this fills our needs as to a legible display for nighttime and a nice looking easily operated clock.

albionphoto: Summary – Easy to set up with large display and loud alarm. It has very poor ergonomic design and the display will be far too bright for many people. Set up options are limited and there is no automatic correction for DLS or setting for 12/24 hour time display. Not recommended.

This Sharp Easy to see alarm clock is marketed as being extremely easy to use and suitable for children and the elderly. I am neither. I do, however, have poor eyesight without my glasses on. Therefore, I like an alarm clock that has a large, easy to read display. This seemed to fit the bill when my old alarm clock stopped working.
The display onthis alarm clock is 2” (approx 5cm) tall and is very easy to read. The display includes indicators for AM/PM, whether the alarm is on or off and for the alarm volume. It is also very easy to set up with a total of just six buttons. The snooze button is a large curved button on a ledge below the display and combines the dimmer and snooze functions.
