jb: I love this water backpack. It's insulated and keeps your water somewhat cool,but on a hot day the water gets warm. You can slide a soft flat ice pack in the pack on the back part on the inside of the pack. That has helped to keep my water cool. It has many pockets. Enough to hold a sandwich, extra drink bottle and a small first aid kit. There is also a zipper pocket on the front for smaller items like a wallet, keys, tissues,etc. It also has 2 wrap around stomach and chest straps so it doesn't slide around and cause irritation on your back and shoulders. Shoulder straps are padded and stay secure when adjusted. Holds 2 and a half 16oz water bottles poured into the water pack. This is usually enough for me on a 5-7 mile hike. I also put 2 extra water bottles in the backpack part of the bag. Just in case I need them. I purchased the khaki one with the American flag on it. I chose the color because it is light and wouldn't get too hot in the sun, black or a darker color would. The water tube mouth piece takes a little getting used to as far as figuring out how to get the water to flow easily into your mouth but it's not too bad after you get it down. I’m impressed because I’ve bought a few “tactical” edc bags off of Amazon and had to return them same day cause the stitching was garbage and the bags felt thin, flimsy & weak.
This stitching on this backpack is reinforced EVERYWHERE it needs to be…like I said it’s very well made considering the price. Great bang for your buck.
Oh and it’s super comfortable! Feels good on your shoulders.
SIZE: It’s big enough to carry your day to day essentials (subjective right?) but don’t expect to put shoes or gym clothes or anything big in there because it is on the smaller side…
I’d say this is the perfect EDC bag for people like myself who HATE sling bags ‘cause they don’t stay in place and who really don’t wanna walk around with a big bulky tactical backpack.
It comes with an Red White & Blue American Flag patch….I put my own Black & White Flag & Viking compass patches on it, purchased those separately.
