We bought three of these because we have three areas of the house. The basement, living area, and bedrooms. We have two dogs and two cats. Our Elkhound is shedding all the time, hair is everywhere. I tried the vacuum after we put it together and oh my goodness, it worked so well I was embarrassed to see how much dirt we had in our carpets. This light weight machine has so much suction that I had to dial it down so it didn't lift my wall-to-wall carpet. The suction control is a great function. There are two speeds, one for carpet and one for bare floors. Works great on my hardwood. I like the lift-away feature. Handy for cleaning around base boards, etc. When you see what has been picked up in the clear canister and you thought your house was clean, think again. This is a mighty machine!

This is the second renewed item I have purchased through Amazon. In both cases, items were like new. Plus, with the Amazon 90-day guarantee, it's hard to go wrong. This vacuum cleaner is great and I chose the Shark because of its CR rating. The only problem was a couple of accessories where missing, so I contacted the refurbishing company, and they sent them two me within a couple of weeks. Save yourself some money.
