Danielle: I ordered this garam masala based on the great reviews. As a newbie to this flavor, I'm glad I wasn't steered wrong! I heard each garam masala is a little different, so you may want to check the list of ingredients first if you are buying it to follow a specific recipe. I am looking to broaden my cooking and saw a really nice coconut rice pudding recipe which called for garam masala - just tried it out and the spice was comforting and not overwhelming or spicy.

Temptd2: Like any Indian spice blend, each garam masala is different. I bought this for Butter Chicken, and also bought some garam masala at Whole Foods. This particular one is more "cumin" to the nose/palate, while the one from WF is more "cloves" - so I generally use some of each when a recipe calls for garam masala. If you've never tried Butter Chicken, look up a recipe, buy some garam masala, and get cookin'! My husband would eat it every night - it's that good!
