philippe plouffe:
First book had too much military stuff in there, was slowing the pace without bringing anything. This one slightly better about that.
Good storyline, I recommend this one

Sandman: Excellent book, excellent characters, lots of action and suspense. The characters feel real, and also exhibit quirks and some lack of abilities as we all feel. There is a lot of rough language, but since I have been in the military, it is all real. I would like it to be a little softer, but that is because I have chosen to never use any of it. I recommend this book to those who like battle stories with science fiction tossed in. Now on to the next book in the series.

Adam M: If you want life changing prose, keep looking. If you want entertainment that is responsible well written. This my be a good choice. The characters are a little shallow at first, but they grow on you as you get to know them. Which is how it should be in my opinion. Full of Action, honor, and well thought out battles. Sometimes a little sappy, but in a way that works. All in all a fun read.

fdp54: Children of Angels is the second book in the Sentenced to War series. The judge gave young Rev a choice - the Marines or jail. ( one of the most squared away Marines I served with as a Corpsman in the 9th Marines had been given a similar choice. ). Rev’s choice led him to new planets, battling aliens and extremists. Because of Jonathan Brazee’s experience as a career Marine, the accounts of Rev’s military experience has a sense of realism that many authors are unable to capture. The story itself is well thought out and quite compelling. The combat is descriptive and real. The characters and relationships are nicely developed. All in all, this book was a delight to read and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of well written military sci-fi. If you want to know what it’s like to be a grunt, read anything by Jonathan Brazee.
