J. Au: Got this for the family for karaoke night and I own 2 of these mics. They work great and they pick up background noise very easily especially if you place it down a few away from people as it's quite sensitive to sounds. It picks of vocals with clarity even when use 5.4 ghz wireless receievers. They work just as good as hooked up to the XLR cable

Willie V. Hughes: I've been using Shure mics for years-- including the classic SM57, SM58, and Beta 58A. This Sennheiser e935b mic wasn't on my radar at all until I saw it was on sale (bringing the price down to that of a new Shure SM58, and cheaper than a Beta 58A).
This mic is absolutely amazing. It beats the SM58 easily and even sounds clearer and better than the Beta 58A (which I think is a better vocal mic than the SM58). The Sennheiser e935 nearly sounds as good as my Rode large-frame condenser and yet is more focused (unidirectional) and doesn't require phantom power or a pop filter).
The key with the Sennheiser e935 is that it doesn't sound as dark or muddy as the Shures. The Sennheiser e935 is so clear that you hear so much more detail. Excellent frequency response too. Highs and lows both sound good, and it feels flat and balanced.
I'm really stunned with how good this mic sounds. I will keep the Shure SM57 for some drum and instrument work, but the Sennheiser e935 is hands-down my new favorite mic. Wow, just wow!

Plyo lunge: Beautiful microphone, sound and quality wise! I have the e835, love it and use it as my primary performance mic, so I decided to try this model. Definitely had to eq it differently than the e835. I thought it would be similar but surprisingly noticed it was much warmer and not as bright as the e835 (had to lower the bass and mids quite a bit) even for my wife’s voice, let alone my bassy booming voice. Nonetheless, output is hot and clear, tone is much warmer than I expected, and the build is super high quality; feels nice to hold!! I love this mic!! It will bring you a different tone; I’d pick this mic over Shure any day!! Sennheiser is my choice of mic!

Michael: I bought this mic to add to my reportoire of mics. I also have a Shure Beta 87 and a Shure Beta 58.
So far, I like the e935 as it pics up my voice clearly. It seems to give the sound booth a nice clean signal that has been easy to use and eq. In the past I have had some techs complain that the Beta 58 can be hard to dial in sometimes. The e935 seemed to take less work to dial in. It also, didn’t require me to kiss the mic (sing really close) like the 58 and 87 do. The Beta 58 is possibly a better mic, but e935 may be easier to use, especially for less experienced sound techs.

Olivier Garnier: We are a 3 piece band. A family band. My daughter is 15, she’s got a nice contralto going without too much power. My son, 13, is adjusting from his voice change, he went from an alto to a unsettled baritone. Lots of power, though, and perfect pitch. As for me, I am a bass who can go pretty high. We do the range of songs, from Obladi-Oblada to Fly me to the moon, from classic rock to classic jazz. Some we scream, some we whisper. Also, we do not have a microphone dedicated to one person. This is because we each play 4 or 5 or 6 instruments and we keep switching. Almost every song has a different set up. Sometimes we sing lead, sometimes back up, depending.
Ok, so now that you understand the situation, I need to say that I bought just one of those seinheiser. I wanted to try it and replace the old EV 967 I believe is their number that we had. We loved the EV. We put them through the Bose L2 system. It has a tune controller. That little controller helps a lot to define the hardware you plug into it. That was for the EV. So I tried the Seinheiser. It shines through it. It is so clear, so vibrant, so accurate. We are studying blending, dynamics, articulations, harmonies. We can...

Piper: I'm a mezzo soprano vocalist in a metal band that features two guitarists and one bassist who likes to play LOUD. I sing clean vocals, and have to be heard over all of the guys' noisyness. This mic does the job really well. I rarely get feedback with this mic -- in fact, this mic is actually lot nicer than most of the mics at the venues that we play at, so I oftentimes will bring it with me and swap theirs out.
Really good sound, very rich quality and it does pick up the high notes well when I have to hit them. Really glad I purchased this as my first professional mic, I am sure I will get a lot of use out of it before I get a new one. Only one gripe is that it doesn't have an on/off switch, but I got used to that pretty quickly.
EDIT: After using this at a bunch of different venues, I will say that this mic will pick up the snare and on my drummer's kit if I am directly in front of him, which can be a little challenging for sound. That's my only criticism.

Sharon: Great mid range detail, noticed it on the first recording I made, forces me to be a more exacting and controlled vocalist.
I bought the 935 and the 945 at the same time to compare on stage as well as in the studio, I kept the 935 because it is virtually immune to feedback, which was the downfall, for me, of the 945 (see my 945 review for details.)
No feedback even with my stage monitor really cranking! High range seems to be a bit boosted, but great depth and detail. The 945 has better low range volume, which can be boosted with EQ on the 935.
Since I’m a solo act, and do not have a sound tech, I would have preferred it to have a switch, but that’s a little gripe about a really fine mic.
