Well, trying to fix the handle ourselves didn't help & the mold came back pretty quickly, so we tore out the drywall since it seemed pretty hopeless anyhow. Then we discovered the leak was actually happening up inside the wall & coming from an elbow joint and beyond our ability to fix oirselves. We called a friend who is a plumber, but to fit us in his after-work schedule, it's going to be a wait. He suggested we order this tape to temporarily fix the leak in the elbow joint. Until we ordered this, we had rigged a plastic channel into a 5gal bucket that would fill every few days since it was a fairly fast drip...this tape is not only helping us procrastinate until our friend can help us, but it is also saving us water costs in the meanwhile. Very pleased with the results! Hopefully it will get us through the holiday season when our friend's schedule clears up!

Kindle Customer: I used it to make a temporary repair to a leaking water hose caused by a gnawing chipmunk. The small teeth punctures were easily repaired by the self-fusing tape. It is challenging to use by yourself as it takes at least three hands to stretch it and wrap it tightly while getting the plastic protective out of the way. Once you get used to its characteristics it works well but it is not totally magic. I replaced the temporary repair with a more permanent fix.Make sure you let it cure for 24 hours before you expose it to water.
Oh, and the manufacturer is correct. It only sticks to itself so make sure you wrap it tightly enough around itself with overlaps so it adheres properly.

msnova: I used this to wrap and protect some wiring under the hood of my car for some lights I had installed. I have used black electrical tape in the past under the hood, but it doesnt hold up under the heat, and eventually gets gummy and falls apart. So far (a few weeks) this stuff has held up. It's a little tricky to work with though, as it sticks to itself pretty well. It's not obvious that there is a 'side' to it; works the same no matter which way I wrap it. I stretched it some as I wrapped it, as some others suggested to do. We'll see how it holds up over the long term, but there's no way I could unwrap it now. If I wanted to remove it, I'd have to cut it off.

Tinman: I used this tape to wrap the handle of a device whose original rubber covering had started to deteriorate and split. Applied as directed it works very well. It provides a very secure grip and a cushion. I have only been using about a month so cannot comment on it's longevity but as it is silicone I don't anticipate any problems.
There is only one slight caveat. Since the tape has no adhesive and relies only on the tension provided when you stretch it while applying to a device, you must not slide the device's handle in your hand when using, as this will cause the overlap of the tape spiral to roll up and eventually come loose.
This is a very handy product that works as described and I recommend it.

pooter: I used this tape to hold together the bicycle wires off the handlebar and it works great. Leaves no residue since the silicone fuses to itself. The only downside to this tape is that it attracts dirt and dust super easily. That's kind of expected though because its silicone.
The clear plastic divider that separates the tape is a little annoying to remove while applying the tape at the same time, but its not a big deal.
