Schwinn Sanctuary 7 Cruiser Bike: Enjoy the Ride!

ChellieChellie: It's a beautiful bike but doesn't seem to be quality. Had the bike less than 9 months and, once while shifting gears, the bike froze up completely. I thought that maybe the chain had gotten off track, but the derailleur had almost completely snapped off (see pics). I contacted Schwinn as the bike was still under warranty. They shipped replacement parts to me, but I was out the money for repairs, and, for a bike less than 9 months old, it was an expense that I shouldn't have have to deal with.

SeiranCrow: The instructions that come with the bike don’t match how the bike comes in the box. The breaks were already assembled and it’s a general instruction so you have to make sure you’re following the correct one. This only mattered because I had never built a bike before! My husband was able to help me and once it was together it’s an AMAZING bike! I’m loving it so far and the red is so perfect! It operates smoothly and the seat is really comfortable compared to “normal” bike seats. The grips on the handlebars are a bit more hard rubber than I like but overall it was well worth the price.

Paul: Good sturdy bicycle. Good quality.
We got it for a great price, though it may have been a return. But all parts were included, and was packed well with no significant damaged found. The assembly instructions are reasonably good.
Downsides:
1-Very heavy, all steel construction. Not easy to lift onto a bike rack or vehicle trunk.
2- A few parts came slightly bent, i.e. the fenders and bookrack. Bending them back into the proper shape was needed to allow good fitment over the tires and frame.
3- Proper assembly requires a helper and/or a good set of tools, more than the manufacturer states.
For example, proper adjustment of the headset requires both a regular box wrench (or an adjustable one) and a special "thin-jaw" adjustable wrench, to unlock the large collar nuts. Both the headset & crank arrived overtightened, but the instructions show how to adjust them.

Definitely recommended, especially if you can buy it at a discount.

Gil Alfonso: The bike came well packed. It was easy to assemble. It came with a defective part which I noticed and emailed Schwinn customer service and had the most amazing customer service experience ever! They answered me the same day within a few hours and shipped me the replacement part later that day. I received the part 2 days later. My fiancee loves her new bike !

Hugo gallegos: This beach cruiser is a great bike. Has many pros and a few cons. I will start with Con’s.

The obvious con, it is a bit expensive. But all I can say you will always pay for quality so anybody looking at this make sure you are ok with the price. So don’t sit here and complain about the price, if it’s not in your budget. Assembly is fairly simple but time consuming. So make sure you have time and some tools on hand. And last the handle bars feel some what small for the bike, only thing that feels a little cheap. That’s about it as far as cons which realistically not bad.

Pros. If you are looking at this bike you are going to pay a pretty penny but you are getting quality. The bike is very sturdy. It looks flawless and it’s weight capacity is about 220 lbs but handles well over that. It rides very smooth and the seat is very comfortable. I have had this bike for about a month and it has been a great investment. Best of all, the looks you get while riding this classic bike is a well worth it.

I hope this helps anybody that is debating to pull the trigger. I’m glad I did
