Bellsy: This was pretty much what I was looking for, needed something that was still furniture, that I could put something on top of, but that could contain all my little guys toys, this does the job nicely. Was a little tricky to put together, probably best with two people. The back is really thin, and because it comes folded, didn't want to lay flat so I can see a few little gaps even after it was nailed down with ALL the nails. But otherwise its a good product.

Kris SteffyKris Steffy: I can’t say enough good things about this shelf/cubby organizer. I got these to replace a cabinet that had just my child’s books in them. I am a single parent and put the first one together in just over an hour. The instructions are very easy to understand & everything fit together the way it was supposed to. It took less time to put the 2nd one together since I remembered the steps from the first one. The neat thing with this book shelf/cubby organizer is if I wanted to put my child’s stuffed animals in a net to hang along her wall then the cubby can be used for additional books. Plus, the top part holds things as a shelf too. I’m extremely happy with the product, it’s super sturdy & holds lots of things. I read the product reviews before purchasing and a lot of the negative reviews sound like an error on the customer side in regards to assembly. Like screws we’re screwed in to tight and stripped. As long as you tighten the screws just enough, it’s fine. The directions to put the cubby part together says it requires the wood glue but the wooden bolts go in and stay in so tight that I didn’t even use the wood glue. There wasn’t a need. Mama of 3: I got this to contain the overflow of toys that my 18 month old insists on bringing into the living room. I didn’t want anything too big but I did want it to be presentable. This fit both of my needs. It’s sturdy and bigger than I expected based on some of the other reviews. My only complaint is the cost— if stores were open right now I would have bought something else at a better price. It’s nice but it isn’t worth the price I paid at all.

Shannon: This bookshelf looks great, however save yourself a step and also order a furniture strap/anchor because a toddler can pull or climb on it and it’ll easily tip over (esp if on carpet). The bottom toy bin should have been designed wider to provide more stability. However, for the price it’s fine. Cheaper here on amazon than Wayfair. The backboard is also made of flimsy thin woodboard. Was easy to assemble with clear instructions. My toddler loves her new toy bookshelf, it allows her to reach everything, and it cleans up her room nicely, so I still give it 4-stars with its flaws.

Amazon Customer: First time I've ever taken the time for a review. I was so impressed with this product! The board for the backing already has nail holes in it. So you can actually see what youre nailing into. The nail head have a white top, so even though it's the back of the shelf it's looks good. The hardware came in a bag with pockets that are perferated so they become pockets and you don't have bits everywhere, also each hardware pocket was labelled. The directions even told you which way to turn the locknuts. I was ridiculously impressed with quality for money, the easyness and design care that went into this.

Ibuystuff: I’m not the biggest fan of build it yourself veneer products but I’m quite happy with this purchase for our daughter. Took me about 35 minutes to put it together from start to finish, would probably take an hour for other people, my husband included. I did use the glue for all the joints and seems to increase the Durability of the product. It seems quite stable but it’s hard to find a spot anchor it to the wall without putting holes into the shelf or side panels using Angle brackets, the backing is cardboard, either way I will be doing so because toddlers be crazy! Would definitely buy again great for book and toy storage.

Adam: I bought two of these in Soft White to replace some open-backed bookshelves from the local blue and yellow store. We had those old shelves since before we were married, and now that our daughter is 3, it was clear that they were really not working for our child's toy and book storage. It really became obvious when I saw the finished product after putting these Sauder units together. They look so sharp and classy, where the old shelves were sloppy and overstuffed. These shelves hold plenty of stuffed animals in the bins, and tons of books on each shelf and don't look like a hot mess toy explosion.They even have a place to hold a label if you have 2 kids and want to keep their toys separated. We have one in the play room and one in her bedroom. Our little one has a lot of stuffed animals and play kitchen stuff, but these shelves hold it all easily, without looking crowded.

I put together each unit in about an hour while I streamed a tv show I was pretty interested in. So I wasn't paying 100% attention to building the unit during that hour. Becky: I am usually pretty happy with everything I get from Amazon and rarely write reviews. I had to post a review on this. I ordered the first one and it arrived in excellent shape, my husband put it together pretty quickly, looks great and will hold a ton of stuff. We ordered another one a couple weeks later to add more storage space and I was so sad that the top part arrived cracked and chipped. I was thinking how on earth am I ever going to ship this 80#+ beast back to amazon etc etc? I had a thought of calling the manufacturer, Sauder. The 800 # is printed on the instruction booklet. I called them at like 8pm and was directed to go to thier website. People-literally about 5 mouse clicks resulted in Sauder mailing me FREE of charge, Free of hassle a replacement for the top portion that was cracked. I completed the online request on Wed and got confirmation that it had shipped today. I am so impressed with the simplicity of the requesting and receiving the replacement piece I just can't get over it. Nothing is that simple. But this was.
