casey: The armoire was sturdy and beautiful. It is more medium to dark oak which someone else stated and why I bought it. My husband put it together and stated the not all items were labeled with numbers. However, very nice and is a wonderful addition to the room. Would highly recommend.

May: The company should seal the wood on the drawer parts completely, as the formaldehyde smells horrible. I cannot use the drawer until this dissipates.

Lisa S: Instructions were easy to follow as long as you take your time. I slipped when hanging the doors and broke a trim piece but fixed it with some wood filler and you'd never know. It was a little expensive for ready-to-assemble furniture but it looks nice

SneezixSneezix: The armoire arrived in a single package. I thought it was packaged very well and there were no indications of damage to the packaging. One of the side panels did have a small dent in the laminate. It took me roughly six hours to put this together after doing a complete inventory to see that all the parts were there. The bottom line is that all the panels are made of laminated particle board and held together with cam locks placed in pre-drilled holes. I made sure to make all connections as tight as possible without overtightening or stripping anything. While the unit was on the laying on the floor, all connections appeared to be very snug. Once I put the unit upright, I could see that it was actually very weak. If I nudged the unit slightly on it's sides it swayed easily. I could see that it needed bracing and I had a feeling that the very thin back panel, applied with tacks, was not going to be enough to keep the unit from moving. It was a disaster waiting to happen. I was able to supplement the construction with two t-brackets and four corner brackets placed over the back panel. I've included a photo. Bart: I've assembled a lot of Sauder furniture over the years and I have to say that this piece was probably one of the most annoying. Not necessarily difficult,but compared to a desk I put together a couple of months ago, definitely not as straightforward.

The assembly hardware comes jumbled together in one bag, unlike other Sauder pieces that have the hardware separated according to the step in the assembly process. Also, the assembly instructions are not very clear - especially where it concerns the assembly of the front feet. Because the instructions are slightly out of order, I wound up having to disassemble one part to assemble another part. Definitely not up to the standards I had previously experienced. Total assembly time was about two hours.

As a side note, both side panels had some minor damage on the front edge near where the center door hinge gets attached. Considering how well packaged the unit was when it arrived, I can only surmise that the damage happened in the production or packaging process. Fortunately, the damage is hidden by the doors and was not significant enough to return the armoire.
