Bree: It is very difficult to find furniture that ships over the Pacific ocean. I am satisfied with this bookshelf. It can be assembled much like other furniture; we had no problems assembling. This is not a very sturdy bookshelf, but it is fine for my purposes. I have set up in my office to hold books, binders, and magazines, along with memorabilia and photos. The height and width are great. It survived an inter-office move using furniture sliders (or wheeled dolly).

Cheryl: This product (5 shelf bookcase) is a big disappointment. We didn't realize the flimsy backing was damaged until we got it all out and sorted. Also, when put together very little stability so when you try to move it you now have more damage. Very frustrating. I've gotten many items from Amazon with much success BUT this item is garbage. I would not recommend this bookcase to anyone. The backing was soooo fragile....served NO purpose. Would have returned it but would never get it back in the box. Unsatisfied customer.

Mandy Gornak: It looks good. If you don’t want cheap but don’t want expensive Sauder products are usually in between. This was one of those. I purchased them awhile ago and the quality is still the same. Good!
**What I think Definitely needs improving though is the backboard. It’s SO thin!! Unfold it very carefully. My daughters Science board for school is thicker. I’m a little shocked because the rest seems the same.
***BUYER BEWARE OF THE BACKBOARD ITS VERY THIN!! Come on Sauder make a thicker backboard!!

Kindle Customer: I can't blame the seller because I tried to put this together by myself. And I am stubborn that way. Then realized I was missing two small shelf holders and the seller immediately sent me more. Then the back came off when moving, which made the shelf wobble... *sigh* I think if I had had some help in assembling and took some time to make it more secure (the tiny nails might not be great for applying the back since the back is apparently what keeps it "secure", it would have gone better. Would I buy again? Yep, I would. I'd just have the hubby help me to assemble next time.

Jojobaby2727: Not the best quality. You pretty much get what you pay for, however it's easy to assemble. But, don't think i'll be buying from this company again. I am not impressed with the workmanship/quality.

Jennifer Wile: Great, easy to put together, only it would have been better to have been told in the instructions how to place certain shelves as I was left with a couple of them having the non white side facing out when I thought it was going to be the other way around. Easy to put together and holds a lot of DVDs

This isn't it. The particle board is poor quality, large chunks, not dense, and the matrix the wood "particles" are bonded in was loose.
The cams and bolts are also poor quality, with 1 mis-molded bolt in the package (they sent a spare). But that makes me worried about the metal that's used. And finally, the nails for the cardboard back had very small heads...which is a major design flaw because they expect the cardboard back to be the item that provides rigidity for thus product. See below.
The top and bottom of this is held in place by a single small screw and 4 cams. Worryingly, they have you build the top as a full box, and then mount the bottom 3 panels to the top. For stability, this should be the other way around. The bottom should have been the full box.
When fully assembled, this leans to and fro without the cardboard backing. LET ME BE CLEAR: THEY EXPECT THE EIGHTH INCH CARDBOARD BACKING to be the part that gives this product stability. No, sir. Just...no.
