The SANYO Eneloop Ni-MH Charger and 8 Rechargeable AA and 4 Rechargeable AAA Batteries are the best choice for AAA batteries. These batteries offer superior longevity, overall satisfaction, and quality of materials. The packaging is also designed to ensure the best protection for your batteries. Get the most out of your batteries with the SANYO Eneloop Ni-MH Charger and 8 Rechargeable AA and 4 Rechargeable AAA Batteries. Nathan Kull: I love the Eneloop batteries, and I use them in everything that I have AA or AAA.
I got this package because I wanted to have a few batteries that were of a different color so that I could keep them seperated for different applications (these colored ones are used in my professional tool kit). The pricing on this package when I purchased it basically threw in the charger for free, which is good because it is crap.
Batteries are AWESOME. They work great in my IT Tools, Digital Camera, X-Box controllers, Wii Controllers, Wireless Keyboard, Wireless Mouse, LED Flashlights, and more. These are LSD (Low Self Discharge) batteries, so you can charge them and then store them in a drawer until you need them... Unlike the rechargable batteries of past, these will not be dead when you need them, and there is no need to charge them up before you use them.
The Charger is cheap, if you are going to invest the money in high quality batteries such as these, invest in a charger that will take care of them! For most people, I recommend the LaCrosse BC-500 which is a smart charger that takes care of your batteries without having to be a battery charging geek. The charger that is...

Wingnut da Cat: The technical aspects of this product have been reviewed exhaustively, and I can't comment on the price competition between vendors - I'll leave that up to you.
What I can say is that Sanyo has made a high quality product that you should consider gifting as far and as wide as possible. Yes, these things consume energy to charge - but very little. And they hold their energy for a very long time if not used. At the same time, they don't result in one-time use alkaline batteries being thrown into the trash and ending up in landfills.
Youth, especially, will consider the gift of a package of Sanyo rechargeable batteries and a charger as a thrill. No more $4 packs of alkaline batteries to buy on a late night trek to 7-11 so they can keep playing Xbox.
I have sent these things as gifts to my sons, siblings, and loved ones. And I can also say that they've all been very appreciative of a gift that not only represents love, but saves them money, too.
Packaging is a little plastic heavy, which is not exactly environmentally sound. But what isn't these days? That said, after you have the charger, it's easy to purchase the batteries alone, which are packaged more...

SomeRandomChick: I kill batteries... I go through them so fast!! Wii remotes, balance boards, cameras and several other electronic devices get plenty of use in my household. I'd tried rechargeable batteries before but hadn't been satisfied with them. After reading some of the reviews on this product, I decided to give them another try.
The purchase price was a little off putting at first but I can now honestly say.. These ARE worth every penny!!
I've owned mine for over 3 months now, they get a lot of use and have been charged plenty of times. Yet, they still work just as well as they did the first day I got them (not something I've experienced with other rechargeable brands!). These batteries are far more superior to any other brand of rechargeable batteries I have tried. These batteries last about a week and a half in my Wii remotes and balance boards before they need to be recharged and that's with heavy daily usage! My cameras can usually drain a set of AA batteries in a little under two uses, these batteries hold up for days with constant usage! My wireless keyboard and mouse batteries were replaced when I first received these and I haven't had to replace them yet.. It's been...

David: * Update *
There is a newer version of this product that has a different number of starter batteries (10AA and 4 AAA) which may be why Amazon doesn't link to it as the "newer version." It's the Panasonic Eneloop Kit 10 AA 4 AAA batteries & Charger (906576) and it is generally available for about the same price. The batteries in the new kit are 4th gen, and one BIG improvement is the included charger, which can recharge any permutation of batteries and empty slots, instead of having to charge in pairs, so you don't have to wait until you have 2 discharged AAAs to recharge them.
* Original Review*
This is a great starter kit for anyone trying out rechargeables for the first time. Having bought my first Eneloops four years ago, I have now replaced most batteries in my home with either Eneloop or the AmazonBasics rechargeable batteries (which are nearly indistinguishable) - remote controls, cordless phones, kids' toys, flashlights. I haven't had any of them fail or die on me and have been very happy with how well they hold a charge. They do take a while to charge (~ 8 hours) once fully discharged, but so do all other brands I have tried. The Amazon Basics...
