SANROCK U52 Quadcopter Drone: Take Flight with a High-Performance Drone

Jacob O Gold: I purchased this Sanrock model drone as a birthday gift for my son and we were not disappointed — it came recommended on a list of entry-level affordable and easy to operate drones and they were right!
With features such as altitude hold, emergency safe landing, easy return to pilot commands, and pre-set flight paths (some of many well-designed features), there is a lot of margin for error with young learners (my son is 4).
Also key here is how well the controls work with an iPhone (or Android) alone without needing an intermediary controller (though you can use that too!). Plus, nice photos and videos albeit choppy when far out of range- thank you Sanrock!

JORDAN T ODELL: I've always been fascinated by drones but I never wanted to get one because of the price and concern that I wouldn't be able to operate it. I recently looked up the best drones which ultimately led me to this product. Here's what I think after a few flights:
It's incredibly easy to fly. Of course it takes some practice but my second flight I was able to maneuver through an obstacle in my yard. I even used it to fly in and check on my kids which they thought was hilarious. The controller is easy to learn and there's even an app you can download to fly it with your phone. You can use joysticks or the phone to point where you want it to go, which is a bit more challenging but very 🕹y. Of course it doesn't fly for hours and it's relatively small so wind can impact the flight direction a bit. My only issue with the drone was a small metal piece that controls the joystick on the controller was bent but I was able to fix it myself with pliers so it's all good now.
My conclusion: If you think you might want to try a drone, give this one a shot. It costs money but I think it's reasonably priced. It can take a fall and I have not maxed out the distance yet so I'm not even sure what...

Chris Essman: Pros: Setup and pairing are simple, flight controls are intuitive. The instruction booklet and app cover things well enough to get you up and running as soon as the battery is charged out of the box. Stable in operation and smooth in response to input. For the price point it’s great. I’ve had a few questions, and the company has been quick to respond.

Cons: While I’ve been able to use the still photo function and have them store automatically to my phone and micro SD onboard, I’m still working on getting videos to save to either. Battery Life seems a little shorter than advertised. Video Signal transmission only stable at close range (30-40ft) on 480P.

Important to note that both Battery and Video Signal are subject to environmental factors as well as how you use the drone. It’s been very cold, which would conceivably impact the battery and there are a lot of 2.4GHz networks and devices for the Video link to contend with.

Being those two are also likely the most expensive components on the drone and the whole assembly was $49, and it’s otherwise a fairly polished quadcopter I’m not complaining. But felt it important to note for anyone looking at...
