Mike Callahan: They are comfortable socks, but they build up fuzzy lint balls easily. If you own pets be prepared to spend a decwnt amount of time with a lint roller and manually plucking out hair from them after each wash.

Jean Williams: I ordered size large, as I wear a size ten shoe, and they are very tight. I wish they had more size choises. They say they are seamless toes, but there is a seam that runs just above the toes. I like that they are made in the U.S. but I can not wear tight socks, so they are not my go to socks. I have thicker, more loose wool socks that I paid much less for. It is hard to write this review because I want to support every made in USA company, but for the extra price, I am not impressed. I will use these when I wear dress shoes, and I am making a short trip. For all day use I will wear my other wool socks.

MC: I was looking for a crew sock, merino wool, medium to thick cushion. Preferably USA made.

All the boxes were checked. I found the crew height on the short side (with high tops the sock is hidden). It tends to shrink down. There is enough elastic it doesn't totally slouch, but they will not stay fully up.

I am not a big fan of compression socks; I think the idea is oversold for an all day on your feet requirement; compression sizing needs to be in smaller increments as it alone is a unique fit. For me, socks are part of the cushioning system for feet working on hard ground: sole, insole, sock. And socks are both the easiest to replace on a daily basis (allowing the loft in the cushion to recover, sweat removal and cleaning, etc). A full cushion and medium ankle thickness would be perfect. Oh, and in gray, as it matches close enough to my clothing for 98% of my needs. The sizing may make them seem more compression oriented than other socks -- I wear 11-11.5 and they are tighter than other socks (Large/XL size). I have ripped the top off of a few. I am throwing the rest out as the area (about) where the ball of my left foot is (just off the thick cushion area) either...
