Vicky Griffin: Quick read. Being from Amish country originally it was easy to imagine the roadside stand. I'm in SC now and miss the Amish pies and buns from the markets and stands. This book kept my interest but is a bit too tame for me.. There is not one curse word or anything off color BUT I intend to read them all in order.

Jean C: I enjoyed this 1st in the Series of already 32 books. I liked Florence very well, right away. Responsible, hard-working, motivated to manage the family because someone has to and her step-mother is not equipped or inclined to do it. The step-sisters are young and terribly spoiled and mean to each other at times.
This story is about Mercy, the 18 year old who is apparently ready to marry the first Amish prospect who comes along so she can get a house of her own and away from the sisters. But Mercy's better parts of her personality thankfully do show through as we get further into the book. It was a good story line and I did develop fears for Mercy making the right choice and not overstepping boundaries prior to a marriage.
I am worried about what will happen to Florence, as she's approaching spinster-hood already, so I bought Books 2 and 3 to find out what happens in Florence's future.

Tony Parsons: Florence Baker (18, stepdaughter) took a break from her sewing machine.
Florence’s other family members are: Honor (dochder/sister), Joy (3rd dochder), Hope, Favor, Cherish (13, youngest dochder), Earl (1/2-bruder), & Mark(1/2-bruder).
Mercy (eldest dochder/sister) with her new dress that Florence made went on a date with Stephen Wilkes (fiancé).
Simon & Liza liked to argue/fight.
What news did Stephen & Mercy Bonnet have for everyone?

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written Amish book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great Amish movie. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is...

Reader Lady: Just not my cup of tea. I couldn't get into the characters or the plot. While the writing is fine, it was lacked the heartwarming touch that I enjoy in Amish fiction. Happy ☺reading 📚!

Michael James Wells: This was a really sweet story about Florence on our sisters. Florence is the oldest, but after her father remarried, she became the oldest stepsister everyone in the house, depended on Florence to get everything Dan especially her stepmother Wilma I found the plot, very interesting and gave a nice if you enter the Amish way of life. I recommend this book for those who like a good almost romance story.
