Kathleen K.: Ordered these in a size 6, wide calf. The foot was way too tight (I'm almost always a true size 6) and the wide calf was too wide. I'm 5'4" and a bit overweight, so I ordered the wide calf. Will return for a 6.5 and regular calf. Other than the odd sizing, the boot was very nice looking and had soft, supple leather.

RH Rod: This is the second pair of boots that I have purchased. The first pair lasted me over a year of continual winter use. I finally had to get a new pair after the heel literally was coming off. Because they were so comfortable and lost it so long, I automatically went back to my Amazon purchases to buy a replacement pair. To my disappointment, this second pair that I purchased is not as comfortable as the first pair. The first pair I could walk over a mile in them without any discomfort. This pair, the toe bed is narrower and killing my foot when I just walk from the parking lot to my office. On the positive side, the shaft of the boot is large enough to accommodate my calf. Because of Powell, the toe bag is fitting, I will be looking for a new pair of boots come this winter.

VeeVee: These boots are lovely. Quality of the leather is incredible... which is why I decided to take a chance even after I tried em on and couldn’t zip them up all the way. As the pictures show, my gamble paid off because after 2 weeks ;) I can put them on properly and they look as they should. With a bit more wear, I’ll be able to wear thin leggings with my new boots!
Here are the details; I hope it helps you make a decision:
-I have a high instep
-I have a smallish foot, 7.5
-I have extra large calves, 18 inch circumference, with thick ankles
So as previous reviews eluded, the shaft is too narrow for my short tree trunks. The opening is 18” but below the opening (~4 to 6 inch down), the shaft was about 2.5 to 3 “ too small. I did the following to stretch those areas out 2.5-3 inch wider:
1. I used pickle jars, face clothes and a set a boot shapers made out 0.5” foam to slowly stetch out the shaft in key areas. The boot shaper ensure that the leather didn’t become deformed (placed against the inside of the shaft) while the rest (place inside the shaper) applied pressure to stetch the leather evenly.
2. Every 2 days I would try on the boots and...

Tracye: These are beautiful, soft, supple leather knee-high boots! I ordered the whiskey brown color and they look exactly as shown in the photo. I am 5'4'"and the highest part of the boot comes up to about 1 inch shy of the bend in my knee. Perfect length! I was worried they'd be too short, but they are long enough and perfect. I can see why some reviewers said that they are snug in your normal size. They are a bit snug for me too. I am a solid size 7 in just about every shoe on the planet, so I bought a size 7 in these. With medium thick socks, they are a tad snug, but they are leather and will stretch to mold my foot properly. I wouldn't size up because of the inevitable, natural stretch created by wearing real leather. I have a medium width foot too, not wide. I highly recommend these boots!

Meagan: These boots are awesome. They are super comfortable wit the rubberized and padded soles that move with your foot. The colour is true to the picture. The leather smells great and is very soft and pliable. The wife foot bed is perfect for my short toes and wide foot. The rounded toe is extremely comfortable. They come up to the bottom of my knee cap and snap in the back to protect the zipper. I have two complained about this gorgeous boot. First, the calf is a bit wide for mine and is about the same width of the regular sole width Penny riding boot, which is fine with me. It means that I can wear them over pants. So far, they appear to be water resistant as my socks have remained dry in wet weather. They will mark and stain with rock salt in our Canadian winters, but there are ways of removing stains and protecting the leather. Just look online for more information on that. My issue is the way that they form around my ankle and calf. They are not shaped in the most flattering way in this area and it kind of begins to look like I’m wearing gum boots in the way that they move when I walk. Comfort outweighs this in my option. Second: the snap flap that covers the zipper at the...

ElleElle: I was able to snag a used pair of these boots (size 5.5M) at a crazy good price and I couldn’t be happier with them! My feet are frustratingly small and I range from a children’s size 3 or 4 to an adult size 6, depending on the type of footwear and the brand (smaller sizes for flats, size 6 for sneakers and boots). I took the chance and ordered the 5.5’s, worried that they would be too small or too narrow, but to my delight, they are a comfortable fit! If I wear my typical winter socks, they are snug feeling but with thinner socks they feel perfect. A size 6 would probably be my ideal size for wearing these in the winter.
I don’t think my feet are particularly wide or narrow for their size, so I think ordering these in your usual boot size would be fine, unless you have wider feet. To be on the safe side, you could order a half size up.
This is my first pair of Sam Edelman’s boots and I'm impressed by the quality construction. Besides the softness and distinct smell of the leather, the boots have a nice thick lug sole which won’t wear out quickly and the zipper feels smooth to open and close. The gold button accents are a nice touch.
The height of...

Desirella: I hope my review will help some people decide if this is the right boot for them. Let me start out with some measurements.
I am 5'9".
From my arch to under my knee cap, my leg is 19 inches.
I measure 15 1/4 inches at the widest point in my calf and where the top of these boots hit. These boots hit 2 1/2 to 3 inches from bottom of my knee cap.
The widest part of my foot measures at 3 3/4 when standing. My ankle measures 9 inches around the bone.
With that being said; I bought these boots in black in both a 9 and 9 1/2 and my usual size In shoes is a 9. I debated but ultimately I do believe these boots run true to size given that the widest point of your foot is not much more than mine because I see it becoming a tad uncomfortable after that. I also had too much heel slippage with the 9 1/2 but I do have slim heels. I have worn thin and thicker socks and they were still comfortable.
With my calf size, it was snug with leggings on but not uncomfortable and the elastic gore part was barely stretched which leads me to think these could accommodate up to a 16 inch calf. I was still able to slide part of my hand into the side of the boots but overall, it was a very...

Sarah&Brad: When I first ordered these boots, I ordered an 8, because that is what I wear in tennis shoes. They were a little too long (they seem to be long and narrow). My foot is a little on the narrow side, so the width was perfect. I returned them and got a 7.5, which is what I sometimes wear in heels or sandals, and they fit perfectly. The soles were a little stiff the first time I wore them, but soon I noticed they were more flexible and the leather had stretched a little bit. I have worn these 7-8 times now and they have never hurt my feet or rubbed anywhere. Are they the most comfortable shoes I own? Well, no. But I certainly can't complain and they have never been UNcomfortable. I liked the review that said they were neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. That's about how I felt. But the best part of these boots is they are SUPER cute. I loved that the toe was darker, because I have noticed a lot of other boots that I see look very worn, and when they get wet from rain or snow, look it. I wore these boots twice in snow, and they never looked or felt wet or cold, and did not stain like lesser quality leathers. They seem to be pretty good quality leather, and they feel very soft. I...

Lillian Leese: The rear snap tab constantly comes undone when it bumps against your chair when sitting, or when you cross your legs. What were they thinking to design a boot like this? !!
Also find the fit rather large around the calves, but that is a common problem.
The boot colour is very lovely, however.
