GivingHonestReviews: I've been using this aquarium filter for a month or so now, and I'm overall very impressed with its performance. It does an incredible job of keeping my tank clean and clear. The water flow is strong and consistent, and the filter effectively removes most traces of debris and waste.
One of the things I like most about this filter is its affordability. It's one of the cheapest filters I've found, and it performs just as well as more expensive models (in my opinion). However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks that I've noticed.
First, the filter can be a bit of a pain to clean. The filter cartridges are a bit fiddly to remove and replace, and they get clogged up quickly with debris. This means that I have to clean the filter more often than I'd like.
Second, the filter can be a bit noisy. The motor makes a humming sound that can be noticeable, especially in a quiet room. However, I've found that the noise doesn't bother me too much, and it's a small price to pay for such effective filtration.
Overall, I'm very happy with this aquarium filter. It's a great value for the price, and it does an incredible job of keeping my tank clean. I would definitely...

AW: I knew this pump would make a bit of noise since it's AC driven but it's horrible. I've made sure all air was purged from the filter end so it wasn't getting any extra noise there. The hum by itself is pretty loud but the impeller vibrates bad enough I can hear it over everything else in the room including a video that's playing right now on my laptop. I would steer clear unless you don't mind the noise and vibration.

S Walker: I have a red eared slider and I’ve been several submersible filters and haven’t been able to find one that worked good until this one and I’ve spent twice the price and they haven’t worked as well so I bought a second one so I always have one clean and ready to replace when I’m too busy to stop eveythint and clean the filter .. but even cleaning this filter is easier than previous ones. The only thing I’d love if it had a water pressure control.. you can control the flow direction only.

Amazon Customer: Good simple design. 3 stage filter. carbon filter. Flow direction - all good.
But not quite as claimed, it have same or more amount of noise as my previous filter.
Also from the output pressure does not seem its doing 475 GPH. much less. But I am keeping it, since previous one was too flimsy compared to this.
Hopefully, I should be able to buy the replacement sponge filters at a reasonable cost later

Kathleen B.: I needed something strong for the tank where I keep my koi fish during the winter, and this filter delivers. It's *really* strong, and produces a strong current. I wouldn't be able to use it in a community or planted tank. It's not as "quiet" as advertised, but it's less annoying that my other filters for sure. For potential buyers, keep in mind that you will need to use a net under the filter when you turn it off to avoid the dirt that was sucked it to be released back in the tank. Otherwise it's a great filter for the price.

Sam Savill: *Edit* Not 2 months old and it really vibrates. Took it out and cleaned it but still lots if vibration. The motor is quiet but there is something unbalanced in it. With 2 in the tank, it's noticeable from another room. Shame because it's doing a great job otherwise. Maybe I'll try to put a Sponge hood on it to quiet it down but I think it need an internal shock absorbing liner.
I really like the adjustable height. Works exceptionally well behind a corner matten filter or wrapped in 1/2" 20ppi foam with a submerged rain bar attached aimed 20° at the surface for optimal aeration. Also swapped out the internal foam for micro K-1 media. I'm very happy with its biofiltration capabilities.
Definite asset, definitely buying another for my 37 gallon tall tank.

Warren and Milly: This filter is working very well in my 75 G tank. It cleared off murky water overnight. It is not recommended for small tanks. Customizable, detachable sections allow the use of different filtering elements. This filter replaces my Marineland 360 canister, which has become too expensive to maintain and harder to clean. Yes, it is a bit noisy and not pretty, but with some imagination, it can be camouflaged behind decorations. It is very powerful, easy to clean, and reasonably priced.

Mark Twain: Update: Customer service resolved below issues. I'm very happy with that. I guess it might be worth trying it out to see if it works for you.
_________
Motor died after 1-2 months of continuous use.
Here are some other issues I've experienced.
- Flow cannot be adjusted and for a smaller tank it's way too much.
- For larger tank flow can be barrable if you adjust nozzle to point upwards, but sponges/media can not sustain keeping larger tank clean. Bottom sponge gets clogged up within few days.
In other words, the pump is way too strong for size of the media attached and probably what ultimately led to motor burning out. This was a bad purchase on my part. Maybe if flow was adjustable it would have worked.
Picked up good old large sponge filter with quiet air pump and airstone, and could not be happier.

Vanessa: I forgot I got this today so when I came home I decided to quickly set it up. It was easy enough only took 15 mins to set it up. I wouldn't say it's quiet by any means but it's running. I'll see how it does in the next couple days.
