martin roth: This rooftop bag held up well on the move from Colorado to North Carolina. We didn't have a rack, so used the extra mat to help prote t the roof and keep it from sliding. The clips attaching it to the frame attached under the window gaskets well, but did add a bit of wind noise. I felt that was just to be expected.
We didn't hit any rain, so I didn't test the waterproof ability. It seemed like good fabric and there was extra fabric covering the zippers, but I'm not sure I'd trust any bag 100%. When zipping it, I worried about the stress of the fabric and moved things around to give it extra room so that the zippers weren't too tight.
The straps held the bag to the car quite well. I tightened them after driving a few hundred miles because it seemed like things had settled, but never felt like there was any worry of the bag coming off the car. There was Velcro at the end of the straps so that the extra length could be rolled up, preventing the straps from blowing around.
We attached it to a 2017 Honda HRV. I'd buy this again if I needed something similar.

Buck Bowers: This Luggage carrier is supremely made. It feels heavy duty, and I inspected the stitching.
To me that is where issues always start with stuff like this that will be in the elements, wind, rain, snow, road debris, Etc. The stitching, if its not tight and right, Forget it.
It seems to be well put together and doubled stitched in certain areas that need the extra strength. It seems like it would hold up for quite a few years.
Honestly I was not able to use it, but I had already had it laid out to inspect before attaching it to my Mom's Rav 4. I thought it was really well constructed.
My Mother was moving from NY to Fla and needed extra luggage space but wound up shipping her Rav 4 but the shipping company's policy did not allow andy kind of roof rack/carrier... Bummer!!!
I did not know, so it's my bad. Unfortunately I just packed it up back up and will be returning it. I own a pick-up truck and it will not fit or else I would definitely keep it.
Would I buy it again?... FOR SURE!!

M. Jecha: I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at the performance of this rooftop cargo carrier bag! I selected this particular item based partially on the (mostly) positive reviews, but the main reason was the short delivery time since it was needed quickly for a cross country trip. Even though it says it works with or without cross bars, I opted to purchase cross bars as well to provide more load stability. I'm convinced that was the right choice.
Anyway, we drove over 1700 miles in a 2 day period, at speeds in the 70s and 80s, through several hours of torrential downpour (both days), and not one drop of water made it inside the bag. As some have noted, it's not a quick maneuver to take things out and put them back up, so it's best if you don't have to get in and out of it a lot. Also, ours did get very buggy and needs to be cleaned, it's kinda gross to handle. My daughter wants to take it to a laundromat, but I'm not sure how well it would fare in the washer! Perhaps hosing it off would be better, like maybe at a self car wash. Thinking.... 😊
