Mike BlakesleeMike Blakeslee: I wear this every day as part of my EDC and it has not failed me. The Velcro is as strong as the day I bought it. I carry a P365 XMACRO 17rd metal mag with Hornady 135gr Critical Duty rounds and the leather just envelops it with ease!

I actually worked a drill technic into my training for this holster. I know there’s already a reloading technic called reloading but I wanted to get as familiar and as far as I possibly could with my gear. Just like if you get a new gun holster, you drill it and drill it and drill it until your lightning. Well here’s how I drill this mag holster situated on my belt at 11 o’clock while I carry appendix.
I call it RGPS. Rip-Grip-Press-Slam.

• RIP • Rip the Velcro flap holding mag in holster.

• GRIP • Grip the magazine and slide it out of holster.

• PRESS • Press the magazine release on your handgun and drop the empty/malfunctioned mag out.

• SLAM • Slam the spare mag home and if you do it hard enough it’ll actually release the slide without having to add the extra step of pressing the slide release, that is, if you achieved slide lock in the first place and that will allow you to quickly get...

That Ain't Working: I love my 1911 pistols and 7 or 8 rounds of .45 is a pretty effective thing to have, but it's also nice to have an extra magazine if only to balance out the weight a little (well, I'd have to carry 8-10 magazines to really balance the weight). I had seen a few IWB magazine carriers but then I spotted this little guy and thought I would give it a try. I'm really glad I did! Since it sits horizontally, it is pretty comfortable (more on this in a second) basically feels like a small cell phone case. I experimented with the opening both back and front and ultimately decided that back worked best for me -- just slide my left hand back over the flap to open and draw the magazine in one general motion which leaves it gripped in my hand so that I can bring it straight up and into the gun.

The only reason I am not giving this a 5 star rating is that it could be finished a little better. Out of the box, the leather is folded and sewn so that there are pointy corners that dig into your side. I'm going to have to try to round those off or something.

R. McLaughlin: I got this for my Kahr P45 6-round magazine. It works like a champ. Also tried my 1911 8-round mags, no problem. Now a 10-round single stack 1911 mag? No dice, it will not fit at all. That's fine, it works with single stack and I am pretty sure it will work with others that I have. of course if the mag is too big you need a different model.

I got this solely for being horizontal but I have learned much more:

1. Vertical mags are fine but I'm not built like a chimney and anything sticking up above my belt line is going to have to fight for space if you know what I mean. That means I'm going to get poked and grabbing a mag will be that much slower.

2. It looks like a cell phone case or a pipe case. And why not! Why do concealable mag cases need to look like something the Adam-12 folks wear on duty? I'm not subject to inspection so I don't need patent leather and all the shiny stuff. Just hold my mag please. Now if the case gets exposed it won't shout that there is a firearm nearby.

3. The entire mag is covered! Cool! That means less chance of something snagging it, bumping it, spilling on it, or soiling it. Also less a chance that it can fall out yet I...
