I used this to paint over the outdated polished brass trim on our fireplace. It was covered well after 2 coats and looks really good. It's a super cheap way to update a very outdated fireplace. The strong chemical odor is very difficult to get rid of, even lasting days after it has dried, but I assume it's the only way to make it safe for high heat. TIP - I recommend using brushes that can be thrown away after you're done, as it's extremely difficult to clean out of paint brushes. You can save them between coats by wrapping them in a baggie or cling wrap.

I used this paint to update some gold/brass finishes in our home. It was easy to apply and dries with a nice satin finish. The only things to watch for are high humidity increasing drying time and the smell is strong when applying.

This paint went on very smooth and had terrific coverage.
I did some basic sanding on my pit before applying this paint and then just used a relatively cheap brush to apply.
A single coat provided very nice coverage, but I went ahead and added a second coat.
The paint looks terrific. It barely shows any brush marks, and the reason it shows any at all is that I applied the second coat a little premature and didn't allow the first coat to fully dry. Even with my impatience, it still looks terrific.
You can see the photos of my pellet smoker before and after I did most of it. Yes, I sanded and painted the shelf on the bottom.
Now, I painted it only a month ago, so I still can't comment on overall durability, but I'm pretty confident I'll get a number of years before repainting.
Oh, and this is a custom grill to which I installed a pellet feeder system. Best decision ever. No, it's not an offset pit, but the convenience and just overall ease makes giving up the slightest touch of flavor is well worth it. And the BBQBlog thermometer is an outstanding accessory, especially for the price.
