Michelle: I was happy to find this dust mop head on Amazon as these kinds are no longer available in store in my locality. Not quite as thick on the bottom as my old one but still removes normal house dust effectively. Unfortunately, it does not come with the handle so I used an old one that I modified to make it fit. I find that all these older models are expensive for what you get so, hopefully, it will last a long time.

jazzer: Fantastic mop. Exactly what I was looking for. Had to order another one for my aunt.
The only drawback is the difficulty in getting the mop on. I dont know whether I'll be able to get it off ro wash it. Maybe a velcro strap might work better.

lsreeger: This doesn't compare to the smaller mops that used to be available by Rubbermaid. The wire (metal) section snapped and broke the first time I changed the mop head. Luckily my husband & I own a machine shop and we had the necessary stuff to replace and make one that worked. Still, it's just too big for around the house. I still have the original smaller mop from years ago with one head. I wish I could find more to fit it; but, you can't. (at least I can't) Prefer these to the newer stuff that you dust then throw away. I toss these in the washer then reuse. I add a touch of Endust to them and they work better than today's stuff.

V. WELCH: When my ancient dust mop fell apart recently, I was stunned to discover that you can't find a classic, wood handle, cotton dust mop in any store, not even Walmart. So I bought a cheap plastic thing, and I hate it--hard to store, clumsy to use. It's in the trash. Finally I went online (wish I'd done this first) and bought this Rubbermaid. It's sturdy, so I expect it to last a good while. The cotton duster is set on a narrow frame so that I can dust in narrow places, which I really love. When I took it from the package, a few bits of cotton string fell off the dusting head, so I hope that doesn't happen much more. Those of you who had trouble inserting the wire frame into the cotton piece: If you look at the photo, you'll see that the wire frame is shaped sort of like a W. Insert the bottom of the W (bent into a V) shape into the cotton piece first. That way, when you insert the open portion of the W (the part bent like a hook) into the other side, you can squeeze them into position. I'm as technical as a tomato, but I figured it out in two seconds: the open end of the W is much easier to squeeze into the cotton pocket than the closed end. Hope this helps someone. bobbieG: A few things we were unhappy about. First We couldn't figure out where three pieces comes from. It has a handle and a mop, that's it.Second, no instructions.Third, we called to see what we weren't doing right and it took 45 minutes and in the last couple of miutes we figured out how to do it. If your older it's extremely hard to get the metal top part of the handle into the mop.It also didn't come with any instructions. This is why we called and actually got four different people. The fourth one was the best but by that time we figured it out.Found out if you have a problem Rubbermaid is the worst company for waiting times and if you think we trust them to take our number and call us back your crazy. It took to long to get through to begin with.I always loved Rubbermaid and have a lot of their products and am happy that we never had a problem with them.

K. Jones: I was looking for a smaller mop, like we had years ago, something that would fit into tight places. The shape of this one was the same, but it is a bit bigger. The handle is too long, but I'll have my hubby chop it down a bit. I spray the mop head with Endust and away I go. I am able to get under the table and between chairs. Does a good job of picking up and holding dust bunnies. The mop head is a bit wobbly, certainly not high quality, but serves the purpose. I have washed the mop head several times, with good results. Kind of hard to get it back on the handle, but we get there. Good addition to my cleaning equipment, all in all.

BarbaraSJ: We just moved into our new house with stained concrete floors. We live on 20 acres, and that means we track in a lot of dust - also have a dog and cat. I didn't want to run the vacuum cleaner every day, and then I remembered the dust mop that my mother used to use. You can't find those in stores around here (Central Texas), but I knew I could find it on Amazon. This is cotton (I think Mom's was wool) but it's good for a quick clean-up and pops into the washing machine with no trouble to reassemble. I haven't tried it in the dryer (of even know if you can). I'd recommend this for anyone who remembers 'life before microfiber'.
