knothead: I had a large piece of needlework to mount. Appears that it will work very well for what I want to use it for. Only con. Just wish I could have bought fewer pieces.

Retiree: The foam boards are a nice quality and a good value. I deducted one star because they were slightly smaller than the description. The 40" measurement was 1/8" short and the 32" measurement was 1/16" short. Given that I was cutting down most of the boards, they still worked for me, but please be aware if of the shorts if you need precision.

The boards were wrapped in a single layer of plastic and came in a cardboard box. The box had a hole punched in it and had been dropped so I did have shipping damage to a couple of the boards on the surface and crushed corners. Please be aware that the packaging makes them vulnerable to shipping damage. I probably could have gotten a credit from Amazon, but I didn't bother as I cut down the damaged board.

Randy B: Yes some had bent corners, everyone should be aware of that as was I and ordered slightly larger than required. The corner issue was no worse than what I'd find ad Michaels craft stores... But it was half the price and delivered.

I use these as a photographer for two reasons. 1 so I can use them to protect the walls of my apartment in the room I use a a photo post production room. The best shots of any shoot go up on the wall as a 5x7 and after seeing them daily for a bit I re evaluate them either repining an 8x10 or taking it off. The ultimate best make it to 13x19. That's lot of thumbtacks in the wall and these mounted with Velcro keep the landlord sane

OCPatchOCPatch: The basic foamboard was fine. There were a few bubbles and depressions in the paper skins on some of the sheets but otherwise the quality of the foam and paper skins was good.
The real problem was the packaging. Mine came in what looked like the box it was shipped in from China. I think it came out of a shipping container, maybe off of a palette, and onto the courier truck that delivered it. I can't say at which stage it was damaged.
It was in a relatively thin cardboard box with no edge or corner protection for the foamboard whatsoever. There was not a single corner undamaged in some way (though most of the edges were okay).
If you are buying this to trim and cut into parts or shapes it will probably work for you. If you are buying this for display boards and/or have critical requirements for flat and square corners at the quoted dimensions you will be disappointed.

Big Momma: When I received the box of the Royal & Langnickel Foam Board, I was somewhat disappointed. It was not as sturdy as I hoped it would be. I ordered the foam board to make angel wings for our nativity. Once I started working on the wings I was very pleased with the foam board. The board had to be cut very slowly and carefully, using a rotatory blade cutter works best. I cut out individual wings and taped the middle together with white duct tape, then cut small squares of napkins wrapping about the head of a pencil, added glue and gently inserted into the foam board. Worked great! The foam board was light enough for the wind to slightly move the wings and they worked out nicely. The wings survived 3 nights of live nativity and can be used again. I recommend this product for craft projects and I will use this product again for future projects.
