Ronlap 880 Lbs Capacity Workbench Caster Kit

Don Armstrong: Product does not look as sturdy as expected. Also, the units are totally unassembled and no instructions or other information on safety or specifications was included. I'm an engineer and it took me at least a half hour to figure out how the pieces fit together. Online it said 800lb capacity. Based on appearance that could only be true if it is the total weight to be caried by a set of four. So each wheel might be able to support a Maximum of 200 Lbs.

Robert Dollahite: The raised flower bed, after putting 5 bags of potting soil, increased the weight to about 4 or 500 pounds.. Added the Rolnap 800 caster wheels, and found that it is easier maneuverable.

Kindle Customer: Bought these for a large Craftsman table saw so that it could be moved elsewhere in work shop. Slanted legs on saw made for some re-thinking of installation but I mounted devices on 2x4s and used shims to bring 2x4s vertical. Used holes already in steel saw legs to attach 2x4s with devices to the legs with 1/4" bolts.

Instructions for mounting the wheels required realization that drawing of mounting plate for wheels seems to be upside-down. Nothing is simple but I think I have ability to move heavy table saw as needed.

David P.: I finally got around to installing these 880lb casters tonight. It took me about 2 hours to figure out on my own how to put the pieces together and make my own marking template. I didn't get any instructions or so I thought. After our drilling and installing the 6 screws on each leg I attached the casters. Once my box was empty I found the instructions under a cardboard flap but they had drawings that didn't match.

There are a lot of reviews about the bolts being shady and I have to agree they seem too short. Probably will be better to upgrade to better ones as well as longer lag screws for me since I'm attaching to a 4x4 not a 2x4.

My 72x30 workbench rolls fine on the stock setup.

Lastly, lowering the table by lifting the casters was nerve wrecking due to fear of sudden drop or failure sure to change in pressure, but it wasn't a problem. I would recommend these to others. They did work.

TB: I bought the 660-pound set for a 3x6' wooden work table I built for my shop. I planned to use six of these casters, and since the total weight isn't expected to exceed about 450-500 pounds, I elected to go with the lighter-duty (and somewhat physically smaller) casters. But even at that they're still rated to support 165 pounds per caster. I bought two kits (8 casters total, and needed the extra hardware anyway), and just installed them today and have a few observations that might help others:

1) The instructions for the 660-pound kit states to install the caster mounting plate so that it's 1.5" above the floor. This isn't quite enough. I strongly recommend that you consider making that 1.75", because at the recommended 1.5" height the wheels still touch the ground when "retracted." They are *just* touching the ground so hopefully it will be alright--but were I to do it over again, I'd make the caster bracket 1.75" above the floor for just a little bit more clearance.

2) Like any Chinese-made product, it seems that you really need to adopt an added safety factor when choosing these things. For instance: At the fully rated load of 165-pounds per caster, I seriously...
