There was wall paper on the walls of a small bathroom the toothed wheels started melting and falling off their little axle . On the first wall and the tool was complete ruined by the last wall.
You’ll need to buy another for your next project.

Islandgal: I have used a like item in the past but this one seems to do a much better job and really pierces the wall paper so that the spray can get in and loosen up the glue. THis rolls easily and does a great job. Wall paper came off in nice even strips.

Martha Raney Taylor: This is a cheap plastic thing that makes sounds like fingernails on a blackboard when you use it. But it helped me get some of the most glued-down wallpaper EVER off my unprimed sheetrock. That paper was up there for 25 years and by the looks of it, was planning to stay glued for another 25... :)
My method was simple - run this gizmo all over a large section of wallpaper, then spray with a water mister. Run my hand over it to push the water into the holes. Let it sit a couple of minutes, then go over it with a wallpaper steamer (Wagner Spraytech 0282036 715). Scrape off the paper with the RIGHT tool (Warner 5-in-1 2.25-in Paint Multi-tool) - I used the wrong tool (the kind with a wide, replaceable razor-type blade) for about half the room and it was a nightmare.
Using this tool as the first step, and the Wagner scraper tool as the last step, made wallpaper removal a snap. It's just a shame I didn't add these 2 tools until my 7th and final room of wallpaper removal...
NOTE: The blades on this tool will get dull with repeated use. You'll probably only get 1 or 2 rooms done and then need to replace it.
