Brooklyn B.: Bought these for my husband for our 6th anniversary, because iron is the traditional gift for 6 years. He put them to use instantly on our anniversary camping trip, and said these work way better than hunting in the woods for a fire poker or kicking logs with his shoes. He likes that they're made of sturdy cast iron but fold up light and compact. I read a lot of reviews where people were disappointed with the length, but these were the perfect size for stoking a campfire. We'll be getting lots of use out of these tongs in future camping trips!

Tdr: Finally, after poking all those fires with a stick to move logs, then ending up with a face full of smoke and sparks, I finally did something about it and got these tongs. Usually I forget by the time I get home but this time I made myself enough notes. I was so far off the grid that I couldn't just pull out my phone and order one on the spot. It seems well built, but not so heavy it's uncomfortable to use. At first it seemed a bit stiff operating, but like new shoes, it just needed some breaking in.

Taggit88: Ok. I had high expectations on this product. I have a bad back so figured this may help. That all aside. Admittedly my error for not realizing the length. It does what it's supposed to do but if you think your going to pick up a sizeable log. Nope! It's shorter then I thought and maybe just myself takes just as much energy if not more to pick up stuff by hand. These can be used safely in a small fire only. Usually if you want to rearrange what's n the fire pit. The idea is correct....but not quite what I expected. Of course I have a bad back so maybe just me. ? It's probably better as an indoor wood fireplace. Jmo opinion folks.
Picture that tool you hand puncture the ground to dig a hole for a fence post. That's the feeling I felt.

Eva T.: My husband commandeered my expensive kitchen tongs for the fireplace and I really wanted them back so I bought this hoping it would do the trick. They are excellent quality but super difficult to operate, you definitely need 2 hands unlike kitchen tongs! Even though they look fantastic, I decided to return it because of functionality.
