Mike: Use these boots for working in maintenance field and they really are good for me easy to take off and put on and very durable

Bored: High quality construction!!! These boots are really well built, I found zero defects in the 13W pair I ordered. The insole is one of the most comfortable I've ever experienced. That said, I ended up returning them because these (like all the other Rocky boots I've tried recently) were just too narrow in-between the heel and ball of the foot. They just aren't very wide at all...and it's really disappointing with these boots because they're so nice. It's a shame they don't offer these in a 2e or greater, I'd be all over it.

Zero Signal: I've bought several versions of the typical side-zip duty boots. I usually get them at one of the big-box stores (the one that begins with a Wal and ends with a Mart, if that matters). I usually get about a year out of them before they're too trashed to wear, though some have been a little better or worse.
I don't work these boots very hard. I typically wear them to work, which involves walking on polished concrete floors and carpet. I don't sit all day but I'm not on my feet a ton either, so inexpensive boots tend to crack or come apart well before the soles wear out.
After the last pair of inexpensive boots I bought gave up the ghost in 4 months, I decided I would buy a better quality pair. My requirements were pretty simple:
-Side-zip so that I could slip them on/off easily
-Water resistant enough to walk through puddles and snow. I don't need to be able to stand in a stream.
-Lining-- I've worn unlined boots before and they're OK, but I prefer a little padding and insulation.
I really wanted to try a pair of the Bates side-zip paratrooper boots, but they're not waterproof, are unlined, and cost almost $170 as of this writing. I wasn't in love with...

David Campbell: I've had mine for about a year now... it says they are waterproof I'm not to sure they are... also because they are "waterproof" they do not breath... making yiu feet very sweaty and because the boots do not have an antimicrobial property in the fabric the smell really bad in time.

ST: I moved to Western Australia a couple of years ago. Before then I was living in Seattle, and used to go fishing to Pacific Ocean(South Jetty of Westport was my favorite place) almost every weekend. I tried varios boots to be able to walk one way 800meter on the Rock, and end up using this boots, which has very firm sole and edge to have good grip to different part of the rocks. I brought new pair to Western Australia and used for around 3 years. It is good now I can get my favorite boots from here via Amazon AU. Fast delivery and nice product as I knew. Happy fishing.

BlessedBee: The fit is narrow. However it is okay in length. Great boot for work but you will probably want to pull out the paper thin stock insole and put in sorbothane insole if you are going to hit the road for duty for next 12-14 hours. Otherwise absolutely great boots.

Mountain Matt: As a member of the Canadian infantry I know boots so I tested these Rocky's out in the Canadian Rockies. Even though for me it's tough to find a boot that fits I read that these boots fit small so I tried hey size 7 but they were a bit large for me. I usually wear a European 38 which would be a size 6-6.5 US. The leather stood up to the sharpest of rocks on Mount Dolemite and on mount rundle. The tread is extraordinary, extremely sticky and great while side stepping on a steep incline. The boot is 100% waterproof, I tested it out by walking up a creek for about 30 minutes and no water came through. They do run a little warm so I'd advise against using them as a summer boot but are a great boot for the other three seasons.
They run a little heavy but are manageable, the only other downside is that the tread seems to stick out the front and back of the boot quite a distance; so you'll really have to pick up your feet or risk tripping on roots, rocks, and steps as you walk up them.

David Langille: I have selected somwhat small in the review options, I usually get 8.5 wide or a 9D in this case I got a 9 wide thinking I would have a bit of room for a heavier sock. Not the case the boot ends up being a bit snug. Just something to think about. Other than that I am very happy with the quality of the boot. I love the zipper saves on lacing each time, its made of good quaiity material and the sole is thick with good traction, the boot over all is very light for a winter boot.

Matt: First and foremost, I wear boots 3/4 of the time. They're used for indoor work, trudging through the mud, walking through mid-calf high snow, driving, and just about any other normal activity that most folks wear shoes for. My old pair of these has lasted quite a while under heavy abuse. They're actually still usable, but the sole has started the crack in a few spots and on the concrete & tile floors at my job, I can no longer get a good grip and generally slip while trying to move a few hundred pounds. My insoles and the inner lining are also very worn, but it's mainly the fabric. Since getting a new pair they're still amazing as the first pair.
Now to actually list what I love about this boot, and the reason I settled on this pair again.
First thing, the insole is amazing. I glanced at the reviews and people are not lying when they say it feels like you're walking on a cloud. When I first tried them on, they not only fit right, they didn't need a break in period for them to feel great. I'm on my feet 8-10 and sometimes more hours a day, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, and driving an hour to work so cushioning/comfort is a key aspect I look for in my...

JW: I have a narrow foot and these boots fit very comfortably. Break in quickly, wore them for a 48 hour paramedic shift right out of the box.
A little warm but acceptable for the comfort and support.
Overall - I like ‘em.
