InScane: This product is amazing for home security or room privacy. I use this (for now) as a regular door bell on my college dorm door to keep privacy and decent security to my dorm. While not at college I use it as a primary door bell to my office area which helps with security and prevents people From tending to knock on your door. While using this at college, being a well known person on campus and everyone coming too you with questions or just wanting to hangout, I found this useful to see who’s at my door, to even being able to communicate with people at my door even with me not being there. This came in handy just in case for emergencies or even people just wanting to see if I was there and this made it easy. I love the Amazon show connection this provides to where if someone rings the bell, my echo show immediately puts a display of the ring camera on the door.

AtoZ2013: Worth it! After being approached by a creepy man at the end of my drive way these were a must! Saving the money on -- totally worth it. I bought two along with a chime since I do not have wired doorbells. The motion detection is very sensitive, the camera quality is better than expected, and I installed these in 3 minutes and the battery is still over 50%-- I've only charged them once and they have lasted over a month now. Happy with my purchase.
It does suck you have to pay to see a log of your videos. If you don't pay the subscription, and don't answer the motion detection or the doorbell ring, you cannot go back and view the video. I also only got 5 days of trial... maybe because these are refurb?
The app needs some updating, it doesn't always load quickly when you answer your doorbell... there's almost always a slight lag. If I leave the app running in the background too long on my phone, trying to go to live view takes a while to load as well. I end up having to shut all my apps down and reopening the ring app to get it to work.
One star removed because of app lag, but overall worth it to see who is at my door without having to open the door!

Raymond Ramirez: I received the Ring doorbell in a different box than the normal sales box, and it was labeled as "Certified Refurbished" on the top. All the contents seemed new, so I just did the installation as guided. I have a wired (24 VAC) and illuminated mechanical doorbell on a concrete wall, so I needed to drill four new holes, and the included base plate covered the wires and original holes. My only complaint (and very common for other installations according to the other reviewers) is the included masonry drill bit is dull and has no cutting teeth. I used my own bit set as I did with my own hammer drill. The rest went easy and it worked almost perfectly. The setup was also easy but the only issue was movement sensitivity. I recommend trying different settings, as my Ring doorbell looks out toward the side (no problems with the street), but the large tree near the entrance gave many false alerts due to wind. So, be sure to test many settings until it will only give you motion alerts with real humans near the door. The Ring app works great with Android and Windows, but the app will not download if the Android device isn't capable to work with the app. I used one single account for three...

NSF: I previously wrote a scathing review, due to not receiving RING doorbell and motion notifications . THIS IS AN IMPORTANT UPDATE. UPDATE: After attempts by the RING support staff, I think I figured it out!! In the Settings of my Samsung Galaxy s9 cellphone, there is a cellphone "Setting" under "Notifications" --> "Data Saver." Most applications are turned off (data saver attempt), which means they do not prompt app notifications. Each app has to be individually turned to "ON" to override the data saver option. So, I am now getting RING doorbell and motion pop-up notifications on my cellphone. When I click on the pop-up, it goes straight to the RING video of the front door. Most of the time. Occasionally, that hangs up. And, there is only a teensy-tiny bell in the center of the cellphone screen when the phone is in a standby mode. No sound, vibration, etc. But it's a step forward. Still no alerts on my PC. -- ADDITIONAL UPDATE: DO NOT GIVE UP on this product!! After you set up RING through the RING app, go through you cellphone setup options, especially those regarding notifications, sounds, popups, how to override a locked phone, etc. After going through my Samsung Galaxy s9...
