jozee: I like these for teaching children things. What i DO NOT like are lies. The description says "anti slip". Unless I speak a different language (and I was born and raised in Canada), these are NOT anti slip. They are the same shiny laminate that is on the front and back.

madcarlotta: These are just perfect! I bought these to help protect my 2 1/2 yo daughter's new "big girl" wood table and chair set. These are the only kid placemats I've found that are truly non-slip. That alone makes them worth the cost! But they also feature colorful, cute, accurate, educational designs that my daughter LOVES! We bought two sets of these in different patterns so we tend to change them around each day, placing two placemats on my daughter's table each day. Why two? She wants one underneath her art materials or dishes (she plays and eats at the table while we are painting our dining room) and one right above that one to look at! I'm loving this arrangement because my daughter is "reading" and learning even while eating - plus our furniture is protected. Can't beat that! I'm looking forward to buying more of these and plan on also purchasing additional sets as gifts for other kiddos. These rock!

Mommy of 3: Super cute mats and they do stick to the table (something I was concerned about). I give the mats 4 stars because they aren't as portable as I was hoping. They don't easily fold up for transport which is what I bought them for initially. I'm going to instead use these at home and purchase a silicone mat for transport. I do highly recommend these mats for home use as they are cute, easy to clean, and educational.

Amazon Customer: I especially chose these mats as they were advertised as being non-slip and being a grandmother of four under five years old, that was important. I can confirm that they are indeed non-slip. I also looked for mats that had the proper format for the upper and lower case letters. Being a former kindergarten teacher I know how important it is for young children to see the correct format as they learn to read and write. These mats, in my opinion, had the best letters and pictures. Even so there are three that should be changed. The lower case "g". No one writes a "g" like that, only printers do that occasionally. The upper and lower case "O" should be changed. The loop on the top is very confusing to small children and I've never seen them printed like that. The lower case "q" needs a longer tail and maybe the upward flick on the end. As it appears on the mat it looks like an "a". The Numbers, Colors and Shapes mats are of the same high quality although the letters "o" and "g" need to be printed properly. Also the number 7 is written strangely and needs to be changed to the normal format. In spite of these few items that need to be corrected I would...
