Erin: I recently got the new Swiffer mop (the pro mop). If you don't have it, you're not missing much. The main allure of the new mop is that it uses these shag-rug style throwaway pads that are 1- crazy expensive 2- no more useful than any other wet mop pads 3- only work for 1.5 rooms before they start falling apart at the seams 4- an absolute waste of nonrenewable resources!! lol. It didn't take me long to figure out that I would need to get to customizing the swiffer pro mop to justify the purchase (and assuage the shame of having fallen for the floppy pad gimmick).
I checked out several reusable pad options and these seemed to have the most bang for their buck. I cannot express how glad I am to have chosen these guys! Their absorbency is commensurate with the Swiffer wetjet pads of yesteryear. They are a bit too large for the Swiffer pro mop (they leave about ~.75in of terrycloth around the perimeter of the mophead), but they stick just fine with the velcro-type attachment style the mop has on the bottom. I have a 1000sqft apt - i used one pad for about 3/4ths of my place & it did a great job! I am a huge fan of these and they've already paid themselves off -- these three...
