Just make sure to throw some bar/chain oil in your cart as this just comes with some synthetic oil to mix into your first gallon.

lilcoupon: Great chainsaw for the money....made in China but backed up by MTD in Cleveland. Great price for a name brand saw and started on the 3rd pull as expected. Have learned over the years to take care of 2cycle motors by using the right gas. Your machine will operate most efficient and last longer if you use 50:1 engineered fuel plus oil. It's a ready to use mix you can buy at any Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware type store for about $5.90 for a 32 FL OZ can. It's essentially a 92 octane fuel with no ethanol. Perfect for use with any 2cycle engine. I recommend this product.

GaryK: I was not familiar with the Remington brand but I read the reviews and it seemed like a good product for the $139 price. Most 14 inch chainsaws that I looked at were at least $189 and up. It didn't come with a case, which would be nice, but I can figures something out. I followed the directions for starting and it started right up - No Problem. I let it run for while at idle before revving it up. I used it to cut 4 - 6 inch logs and it goes through them like butter. I have used it periodically several times to cut logs and it always starts right up and cuts great. It's well built, solid and sturdy, runs well. It's a fine tool.
Update - I have had this chainsaw for about 6 months now and I have used it occasionally on some fairly heavy jobs. Cut up quite a bit of wood and also cut down 2 trees and cut up the wood. It does the job fine and I am still quite satisfied. It does use a lot of chain oil - I think there is a way to adjust the flow but I'm not that concerned. The main thing is that it always starts right up, runs smoothly, cuts well as long as the chain is sharp. I bought files and I have sharpened the chain a couple time. Those who complain that it...

Retief-CDT: Bought this saw to replace a McCulloch MC3516 of 10 years vintage. The old one has seen a lot of use and was always reliable until recently. The Remington is very similar in looks/construction and I am sure comes from the same factory in China. A few new features like the choke sets the throttle for start up versus manually locking the throttle takes a few seconds to adjust to.

The Remington starts very easily and runs great. Better power than my older saw at 42cc versus the 35cc of the McCulloch. The saw power head is used for 14in. 16in. and 18in. bar configurations. I bought the 14in. and may eventually buy a good 16in. Oregon Bar at some point if I find I need a longer bar.

About the only gripe I can find with it is the bucking teeth protrude 2 inches out and reduce the saw blade cutting length. I adapted them by cutting off the attachment tabs and drilling new holes in the tooth blade area.
