Mike M.: Well built, though the Velcro straps are a pain to attach. Wish they could have thought of an alternative for attachment, especially for the elderly, and folks with upper body weakness...

moe74moe74: I was using a tray table (like the ones used to eat dinner in front of the TV in the 70s) for my dad before I found this. Because of his declined motor skills and hand-eye coordination, coupled with the smooth surface, my dad was constantly bumping it and knocking it over, or knocking things (like drinks) off and we had never ending spills. Additionally, since he prefers his wheelchair to the couch for TV viewing, he was constantly slouched over. And FYI I HATE tray tables. Always in the way, fold up when you try to move them and fall over. I just hate them. But that seemed like the only option for us. Then, at my wits end, I started searching for something better. I knew there had to be SOMETHING. I found this....and everything changed. Although my dad joked that it feels like his in a baby high chair, he loves it. It velcros on easily and doesn't sag at all. It is wide enough for meals and even puzzles or games, and holds all his stuff. Added bonuses are the raised lip around the edge, and the two cup indentations. He has spilled a couple of times but the spills stayed on the tray, no mopping! But even better, because of the width, my dad has a more comfortable place to rest his...

Gregory J. Nus: For my mothers transport chair I just purchased. Only 2 stars because of the flimsy attachment point. (and the tray is very big)
I believe at $40 it could have a better clamping design. IMPORTANT…this is a what Amazon calls a “food item” and is NOT refundable. So if you want this tray to be a temporary deal, installing to hold a plate of food or playing a games of cards, I would say is perfect. However if the individual in the chair may flail their arms or some other disability which creates erratic arm/body movement then I would not purchase as would be unsafe as is easily ripped off the chair arms.

GoudaKayak: This tray worked wonderfully work my grandmother's wheelchair. She can't come close to the dining room table as the wheelchair arms are too high. She had to sit back far from the table. With this tray, she can eat and drink with the food closer to her. It goes over the table top for us, and worked well. We've also used it in her lap in the recliner or in bed, though needed to put something under the front edge, so it wouldn't tip over.

SwordfishSwordfish: It is hard to find a tray that fits wide armrests, but this one works. However, the wheelchair's armrests are too short to be strapped safely. I had to use my carpenter skills to add two extensions. I ditched the Velcro straps that came with the unit. Bungee ball tie-downs work the best. I am not giving 5 stars so the maker might want to improve upon this product. I shouldn't have to do all that work to fit our wheelchair.

KellyV: Received without straps. Returned. Replacement received without straps. Being returned for refund. Given the number of people who received the tray without straps, I expected Amazon to improve quality control. Guess not!

rosegarden: So disappointed. I need this right now, yet it's useless because the straps are not included in the box. The tray is also very scratched all over the surface. Will have to return and go with another brand. Edit: They have a wonderful return policy though, and refunded it before they even got it back. Top marks for that!

DWSH , ON, Canada: Typical Amazon - it was here the next day, for at least 30% less than the medical supply companies were going to take 10 days to get.
Very well built , with NO SAG typical with the non-extruded products.
The indents, and lips are very helpful at this time of increased frustration, and inconvenience.
Don't hesitate to make this your choice for a wheel chair tray.

Amazon Customer: I returned this tray as the white plastic had black marks and spots in it. This made the tray look unclean. At first I thought it had been used but the marks and spots are right in the plastic and cannot be wiped off.
In addition, I returned it and I had to pay $16 to do so even though the product was defective6. I am really outraged about this cost to me.
