Amazon Customer: I'm a long-time fan of Kid President so when I saw Brad (the uncle and camera man) had a book out, I was quick to get it. I'm so glad I did! It is humble, insightful, encouraging, and inspiring - without being dull or preachy. It helped me remember my "Why" (as in why I became an educator) and I plan to read it each year before school begins, when I think we could all use a little pep talk and reminder about what's important and why.

Christine: It's a nice book. I just think it was poorly described/marketed. I'm a single, middle aged, childless adult looking for a little inspiration. And there was a little, but it was mostly about how to be better people for the children in our lives and a lot about the author's personal journey working with children.

Phil Steer: I love this book - and would love everyone to read it.
Its message - about becoming better grownups by being more childlike - is so necessary, so important - yet is communicated with such a lightness of touch.
The book is beautifully produced - like a children's book (and I mean that as a compliment) - with board covers, and thick pages, and clear type, and colourful illustrations. It's the perfect format - allowing the message of childlikeness to live within the pages, rather than being drowned beneath a mass of words.
Yet there are words enough to challenge, encourage, inspire and change us. I noted down many (sixty!) short quotations, and will end with just a couple, from near the start and end of the book:
"We become more fully alive when we listen to the child within us."
"[Children's] unassuming honestly, open generosity, and playful curiosity brought me back to the child I once was and the grouwnup I so desperately wanted to become."
There is so much more to this book than I can communicate here - so get a copy and read it yourself!

RJ house: This book is inspiring and comforting. Just reading that all kids need is for parents to be present and that I am the best me I can be - wow! How easy is that? I hope we can all strive to be better grownups, to be elevator operators!
Thank you Brad for this book!

Khrista: I thoroughly enjoyed this book—one of the first things I noticed about it was that there are pictures on nearly every page. That delighted me because how many books are printed today for adults that have PICTURES? I personally feel like not very many, though you may feel otherwise. I should’ve known it would have many illustrations since Brad is an artist, but somehow it slipped my mind and I was happily surprised by the many colorful images on the inside.
This book declares in a loud voice for all to hear, you MATTER. You DO make a difference in the world, even if you can’t see it.
Oftentimes we can believe that our acts of kindness don’t really affect people, but this book reveals that our acts of goodness—even the smallest ones!—can impact people far beyond what we could ever imagine, and there are many stories in this book to prove this. People are rarely thanked aloud for the impact they’ve had on another’s life, but even if it isn’t voiced, it’s there. We need each other. Every single person matters in this world and can make a positive difference in another person’s life.
We’re the grownups in the room. Our acts of joyful rebellion against...

Karissa: This beautiful book.
The beauty of this book is it’s a book for adults that speaks to and for the child in all of us.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In “Becoming Better Grownups,” Brad reminded me of profound truths that I can live out in simple, everyday ways.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I laughed—oh how I laughed reading the things kids said—
and I cried
—beauty can’t help but bring tears to my eyes.
And if I’m honest, the beauty of this book is the Gospel. Though Jesus wasn’t explicitly mentioned in this book, His heart was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To become a better grownup means to become like a child again, just as Jesus exhorts us in Matthew 18. And this book is a good reminder of what that means.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are a few things this book taught me of what it means to have the heart of a child:
•Live from pure passion, pure heart. As an adult, I’ve fallen into defining myself by my titles and accomplishments. To be like a child, to be a better grownup, means to focus on what I *love* about what I do, to remember my passion, instead of looking for the applause.
•To always be curious. As we get older, we...

lucia: This book is light and deep at the same time. I thought it was for grown ups, but I understood is for every age - something only great books are.
I Don t know Brad, but from what he writes, it's clear that he is a person who truly cares. Not only about children, but even more about how to help each other to feel better about ourselves.
It shows that even if most time we might feel not good enough, if we try and are fully ourselves, we already bring value, just with our own being as we are.
I just wish thus book would never end.
