Jeannie Bean: These are better than some of the high-end closed-cell foam seat pads and for a fantastic price. We use them for backpacking and some day hikes. They are insanely lightweight. The seat pads have a strap to hold them closed and are easy to secure to the outside of a hiking pack. I have four children, and I love that the cushions came in a four-pack as now each child has one. This is one of our best backpacking purchases.

SR Higgins: If you are a hiker or trekker or plein air artist, this product will change your life. I trek (Camino de Santiago, Alta Via 1, Tour de Mont Blanc) and I also carry my sketching kit. While other hiking sit pads exist and are just as lightweight, this one folds up, which is important for two reasons. First, it's easier to pack, and second, most of the time I use it partially folded. This gives a thicker cushion under my sit bones, which is the only place you need cushioning anyway. I carried one of these 800km across Spain in 2023, and it made 1-2 hour sketching sessions such a pleasure, it was one of my most valued items in my pack. I also take one to life drawing sessions, and it's so much easier to sit on a drawing horse with one of these, that several other artists have ordered them.

Ben Flynn: First off, this pad is small. It is very compact and super lightweight, just like I wanted. I’m always out backpacking and when I go to sit down somewhere in the woods, my butt gets wet. I’ve been using this little pad as a seat cushion and its awesome. It adds a bit of padding to the downed tree or rock I use as a chair and keeps my butt dry. This would be great to use in some outdoor bleachers as well or if you’re looking to have a sit down lunch or picnic. Also used it in my hammock overnight to give my feet a bit more insulation. Versatile pad! Did I mention its tiny and super light weight?

Zak MacKay: I got these for snowshoeing. They are great for that purpose. These are great for sitting on the snow, logs, rocks, etc. while out on the trail. Because they are waterproof and insulated, it is great for carrying with you during the snowshoeing trip.

Pros:
1. They are waterproof so you can stay dry while sitting on the snow. Much better than sitting on your pant seat.
2. The insulation makes it so that you can keep warm under your seat. Adding this layer underneath you keeps your seat warm.
3. They are so lightweight you don't know you are carrying it. Whether inside your pack, or strapped to the outside, the weight is so negligible.
4. It makes sitting on a log or rock so much more comfortable.

Cons:
1. It doesn't fold up as small as a blow up seat pad, but so much easier to just pull out and set down. It can easily strap to the outside of your pack. IT takes up a little more space, but so lightweight you won't notice it.
2. You have to set it on something, it's just a pad, not a chair. If you want to carry a chair with you that won't sink into the snow, then go ahead and carry one (which I do while backpacking during the summer), but I have chosen...

Tyler: These weigh nothing and are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the name brand option.

I love this thing and am trying to be as unbiased as possible.

Pros: Weighs nothing, cheap, comfortable, warmer.

Cons: Not incredibly "tough"

I carry this while hunting and backpacking. It offers insulation between my rear end and the cold ground as well as a bit of padding. This means that I glass longer and move less than I did before and as such I see more than I did before. literally I would say this made me a better glasser. I use it while backpacking in the spring and summer because it is nice to have a dry comfortable seat.
