Quicksand: I had already had the mount for my brake cylinder, and the X version of the Ram holder for my phone. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and this is so much easier to use than the old version of the ram holder. It seems sturdier and you can adjust to the size you need on your phone and it’s just hook the top of the phone in And let it sit down and you’re good to go well worth the investment over the old style. VanBrudenrijden: I've gone thru several RAM products for my motorcycles. This model is by far the most secure, easy to use. and durable. Occasionally the little 'legs" can break off but RAM sent me replacements free of charge and I only needed one. I've broken the 'legs' off the X phone holder and those cannot be replaced. The nice thing about this phone holder is the easy in which to put your phone in and take out. No rubber gasket to mess with like on the X holder. I also don't trust these other brands with a twist type attachment, also those require adding an attachment on the back of your phone, no thanks. Been very pleased with the RAN product line.

KellyR: A definite improvement over their X holder. Holds solid & easier to put in & pull out. The only downside I've found is that I have 2 different phones for work & personal that are different sizes. The X holder adjusts on the fly, but this one is more of a hard adjustment for the side-to-side. Not really a big deal. Just set it to the wider phone & it'll be a little off on the smaller one. I don't think most people carry 2 phone anyway.

Amazon Customer: If you’re on the fence about this mount, just buy it. I bought it a while ago for my truck because the mounts I had before it continuously failed to hold or broke. A few months ago I totaled that truck, but throughout the entire accident my phone stayed firmly secured to my windshield. It now sits in my new truck.

It holds firmly, without any intricate tricks to place or remove your phone. It is versatile, easy to adjust, and modular as you can buy different extensions or attachments from the company should you decide to mount a different device or mount in a different location.

My only complaint is that on a hot day, the suction cup attachment for the mount will, on rare occasion, fall out of the windshield while putting my phone into it as the temperature change effects the density of the air facilitating the suction. But it is quick and easy to stick back up.

Wibble: RAM products aren't cheap, but they're a far better investment than buying a whole bunch of cheaper alternatives that just end up in the bin.

I've used the XL phone holder to secure my Ulefone Armor (a big, heavy rugged phone) to the handlebars of an adventure bike, and and it remained rock steady over any terrain.
