Dani R: I love watching Danny's videos and the book gave me so much more background on how each video was made. I love Danny even more now! It's fun to look up all the videos while you read the book and understand what he had to overcome to complete each obstacle. Danny inspires me to be a better rider and tackle things that I think are impossible. I have recommended this book to all my mountain biking friends!

Nick: Great read for all, even if you aren't already a huge fan of MacAskill or mountain biking. The background and commentary on his videos and his life is very entertaining and a special treat for us fans. But there's a inspiring message of hard work, integrity and following your passion in his story. I recommended this book to my niece and nephew, not just because I want them to become serious riders (which I do) but because I hope they can learn from a youtube celebrity that isn't a douche, that respects his fame, followers and sport. This book makes me respect Danny even more and I can't wait to see what else he gives us.

Lee Elaine: "...das Buch hätte man auch aus der Perspektive eines Fahrrads schreiben können, das sein Leben mit Danny MacAskill verbringt.", habe ich beim Lesen so manches Mal gedacht.

Sehr sympathisch schreibt Danny MacAskill die Geschichte seines Lebens als Hommage an das Biken in all seinen Facetten. Auf kaum einer Seite ist Danny zu Fuß unterwegs und selbst Verletzungsphasen dienen zur Inspiration und intensiven Vorbereitung auf ein neues Video, das dann doch wieder ganz anders ist, als die vorangegangenen..
Trotzdem ist das Buch keineswegs einseitig, sondern nimmt den Leser mit auf eine Reise auf zwei Rädern, beginnend mit einer abenteuerlichen Kindheit, kleineren Gesetzeskonflikten in der Jugend und der Erfüllung eines großen Traums: der zunächst einmal war, Fahrrad-Mechatroniker zu werden. Der Erfolg kam dann 2009 ganz überraschend und ermöglichte es Danny und seinen Freunden - zu unserem Glück - seine bis heute so außergewöhnlichen und originellen Videos zu drehen.

Besonders bei der Beschreibung der Videodrehs zeigt Danny Momenten des Selbstzweifels und der Angst vorm Stunt/Sturz, aber auch die große Kreativität und Abenteuerlust, die in ihm steckt. Was...

Dr Taylor: Fantastic insight into the creative mind behind arguably the greatest stunt cyclist of all time.
An easy and enjoyable read. The book starts with anecdotes of a young Danny growing up, and moves on to tell us about his accidental thrust into the limelight. I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of the planning, preparation, practice, determination and mindset that goes into each trick. It truly gives you a greater respect for Danny and the hard work he puts in. It was nice to learn that there is more too him than just the riding, and that he plays a very active role in how his videos turn out. An inspiring read for any sportsperson / viral video maker. It's great to read on a tablet as one is able to read the chapter about each video then switch to youtube and watch the corresponding video before continuing reading. Very hard to put down and i read it in a day!!
