Adam: These pedals grip my boots and shoes extremely well, how the studs are sharp and if you crash they can cut up your legs.

Jose BSC: Ligereza y agarre. No se escapa el pie ni queriendo. Precio algo elevado.

CC: Brilliant pedals with loads of grip! Just don't hit your shins if you can help it! They look good and ride good, pins sadly do get a little rusty, maybe aluminium pins would be better, but other than this i cant fault them.

TEO: Pedali Chester della misura perfetta ne troppo grossi ne troppo piccoli di ottima fattura e di qualità e anche molto belli e leggeri. Ottimo Grip e buona qualità prezzo

KristinKristin: I finally replaced the factory pedals on a '17 Kona Lava Dome with the Chesters. Initial impressions from the 3ish hours I spent on them this weekend are very good. The pedals appear to be well made and they provide WAY better grip than my old pedals. I am about 140lbs, wear Vans Sk8-Hi Pros (gum sole), and ride mostly single-track in Wisconsin. My feet felt planted through the pump track and on the trails. My stroke seemed to be more efficient. By being able to power through a larger portion of the rotation, start the push earlier with a forward motion and pulling through the bottom longer, the few short climbs felt much easier. Some sections were a bit wet and I did not notice any impact. It wasn't the muddiest ride but they did shed mud without having to find a stick to clean them out.

They were as easy to install as any other pedal. I used a crescent wrench that was probably too wide because I was too lazy to go grab a 15mm and I don't have a pedal wrench. One side is reverse threaded (just like every other pedal). It took about 20 minutes mostly because I needed to refill my coffee.

I can't really say to much about durability other than they...

Obi WanObi Wan: These do improve the ride. It's a long pedal (running the length of the foot, not the width) so you have more surface area to press down on. I found my feet felt better after a long ride just because of that. I don't have to put all my weight on the ball of my foot if I don't want to. I can spread the weight across more of my foot as needed.I also have really wide feet and the width of the pedal was good enough that the side of my foot isn't hanging off the edge.

As far as the grip pins, they hold really well. My favorite biking shoe is old sneakers. Nice and broken in so they are super comfortable. But that also usually means the tread is worn flat. Even with no tread on my rubber soles shoes these pins help my feet in place firmly. But they don't prevent you from easily lifting your foot up and getting off the pedals quickly. They just keep your feet from sliding forward or side to side. So you're not wearing your foot muscles out by constantly adjusting to stay on the pedal, and when you want to get off the bike in a hurry your foot still lifts right off.

I did try a few different pairs of shoes. Softer rubber grips these much better than harder...

Pete: These pedals are super grippy. The pins are very tall when fully extended and almost grip too much IMO. It can be hard to re-center your foot on them if it does slip a little going over a bump. You can adjust the height of the pins with an allen wrench. Unfortunately the nuts they thread in to are held in place by the composite material, which is to say, they are sometimes held in place. At least half of them would just spin when i turned the pins so they could not be lowered. I solved this by jamming the point of a utility knife between the side of the nut and the composite to make it a tighter fit and managed to adjust them that way, but it made for a very tedious process to get them all adjusted. Now that they're dialed in I love them. Great pedals for the price
