Katherine D.: I have two of these on a 50 gallon... it might be overkill, but it works for me. They do a great job filtering the water, are easy to clean, are fairly powerful and, when working right, are quiet.
However, my complaint/issue with this filter is that the pump and suction tube (not sure what that is called) assembly is super easy to come apart. I have experienced this several times when i have accidently bumped it while cleaning. One of my filters are more sensitive than the other and it has come apart so many times that it caused the magnetic spinny thing (don't know the term for this either) to rattle and is super noisy now. I have tried to fix this several times with no luck, so, for the moment I just unplug this unit when I'm around so I don't have to hear it clattering. (Note: I recently purchased this one and the rattling issue just started this past week. I will be reaching out to hopefully get an exchange soon.)
I'm not an aquarium accessory expert but I would still recommend this filter over some of the others I have tried in the past, even with the recent issues.

Christine Stanley: I found it cheapest here, so glad I tried it out. Doesn’t reach to the bottom of my 20 gallon but it does it’s job! I just cleaned the pad & I am so glad I went with the bigger filter power.
