There is zero bass, grandma's 80's tempo has 10x the bass that this junk has.

edmocon: Wish I could give a zero. I would compare these to the speakers that come in a 29.00 home stereo from Target. They produce sound but to say they even produce low quality would be overstating their performance. No quality is the accurate term for these. That being said they have huge magnets, rubber cones and look great. They mounted right up in my stereo boxes that I had that previously had 6.5 inch speakers. I was so pleased with mounting and looks and then plugged them in. What a disappointment. One of the boxes was old and faded and previously opened so don't know if they had been returned or what. By the way it is not just the bass that is bad, it is the mids and everything. I tried boosting and cutting mids, lows and highs to get any decent sound but they are terrible. I would say 4x6 stock cheap car speakers would out perform these. I am not going to take them out of their boxes and pull them out and return them so maybe I will donate the speakers to savers. By the way I have slamming infinity home tweeters hooked up with these and the speakers still suck. I had old cracked foam 6.5 speakers in the boxes before. The foam was actually cracked...

Jeramy PetersonJeramy Peterson: For the price you really cant go wrong. Used these as replacement mids on my sts 1500 optimus speakers. I did a side by side comparision and these sound great. Very close to original. Also upgraded my 15 with a pyle. Very nice sound for the money.

Recomiendo

I'm generally pleased with the value of this purchase - but pay attention to the frequency response of 200Hz ~ 5kHz - that's really not all that low or all that high... mainly because this is a "Midrange Speaker"
I got mine as a quick cheap "fix" for a blown 6.5 inch midrange floor speaker that's paired with 12 tweeters and 2 midbass 6.5 inch woofers in a walnut cabinet - that is, the other speakers carry the lows and the highs - so I was looking for something truly mid-range - specifically ones that were 8 ohms resonance as most 6.5 speakers are 4 ohm for cars, as opposed to home systems (and there's not a ton to choose from in 8 ohm)
This fit the bill for my needs, but if I'm looking for an all around full range speaker - or even something that can handle the low bass - well, I'm getting something else
Note that not all mid range speakers are alike. I'm getting a different pair to pair these with (as I said the Sonab speakers I'm replacing each have 2 midrange, 2 midbass and 12 tweeters - a ridiculous 16 speakers per module!) - and for those I'm getting some slightly more expensive mid-range 6.5s that are 98Hz -10KHz - much lower lows and...

I have had 4 of these 6.5" mid-range woofers in all 4 doors of my Blazer for about 3 months now. Each speaker has 75w RMS running to it. They sound excellent. Superb sound quality and I have not been able to make them distort yet even with volume turned up on high. I have to turn it down because my ears hurt too much.
The only problem I had with mounting them was the mounting depth. I failed to check the depth before installing and as a result the back of the speakers interfered with the window inside the door. I had to custom make some spacers to allow them to be mounted. Also had to dremel a little bit of the plastic door trim but nothing too drastic and everything still looks stock inside vehicle.
Overall these speakers have done everything I have asked them to do. They have out performed my friends $400 boston acoustics component set which have blown several times now with the exact same amp as me. If you enjoy piecing together your own sound system these 6.5" mid-range woofers get the job done.

I bought two of these to use as replacements in some old speaker cabinets. I chose this model mainly because it fit my cabinets perfectly, but also because I had previously used their smaller 5-1/4" model and was happy with them.
These sound great, and they are well made. They are designed for professional sound reinforcement applications, so they can handle enormous amounts of power without distorting or burning out.
Another reason they worked for me is the sealed back design. My speaker enclosures do not have a chamber to isolate the midrange from the woofer, so I needed the sealed back like the ones I was replacing.
One small downside to the design is the use of foam surrounds. Foam is a very common material for speaker surrounds, but foam surrounds typically only last 15 to 20 years, and then they dry out and crumble. I would much prefer rubber surrounds which last way longer.
Over all, I am happy with this purchase and if I would recommend them for anyone who needs a 6-1/2" midrange.
