Shepp240: The only negative thing I can say is that after I installed the drain it did leak. The leak was coming from the rubber gasket. I took the rubber gasket off and used plumber puddy which works much better. No more leak. My suggestion to the company would be to offer the plumber putty in place of the gasket. All in all, the product is built great. works well and looks amazing! Great product.

P. York: I'm not sure whether sinks have changed or what, but I went though quite a few options before finding this one. It's the only one I tried that actually seated fully in the drain's depression and doesn't leave a couple teaspoons of water lingering at the bottom. Installation wasn't hard, but it was a bit different than some others. The top flange requires a ring of plumber's putty like all "classic" drain installs. The black gasket that sits closest to the flange...not sure it's really needed since the putty should be enough, but depending on the size of your drain opening it may be very difficult to seat it fully. Will need to wrench-tighten the nut a bit more than would normally feel comfortable. Hint: you will NOT see the black gasket when you are done, as it should be entirely buried in the drain and the putty will also be fully "severed" and buried in the drain. Aside from that, this was a drop-in replacement for an old Moen drain, though thankfully now without the overflow and the stupid drain lever that always breaks. And not tarnished and spotted brass. ;)

Anyway, a good quality product. Simple. Functional. Something seemingly missing from most of the competition....

Handy Mike: Most bath faucets come with drains with holes for the sink's overflow channels. Most of these will leak under the drain and people end up having to do all kinds of things to get them to stop leaking. When successful, however, this traps water and gunk in the void between the drain pipe and inside of the drain hole and it ends up stinking and growing mold.
A better solution is to use a solid drain assembly that doesn't have overflow holes. I found these and was skeptical at first because a lot of the pictures on Amazon are too good to be true. In this case, they are very accurate. The finishes match the common faucet finishes and the metal isn't super thin like I was expecting. The stopper mechanisms and tightening nut are all solid brass.
One of the best features is the top seal. It's a rubber gasket that has two flanges that seal tightly to the sink's drain hole. I haven't seen one like it before, but it works great and you don't need any putty or caulk.
The bottom seal and a good size and shape and plugs the bottom hole very well.
This assembly installs very quickly and securely and the pop-up drain plug works perfectly.

Sunny Fong: Bought these for a renovation. The instructions say to seal them which isn't a good sign. Should need no extra silicone. Sealed them anyway and they're both leaking. Small tiny leak. Can't return them so I'm not happy with this.

my pen name: The seals are very thick. Good for the bottom seal, but the upper seal that fits just below the stopper is too thick. Even when fully tightened, there is a gap between the sink bottom and the metal part of the stopper. Does not leak, but it leaves a small puddle of water at the bottom of the sink.
