Turned By A Frog: Good and stable for touchups on the bottom and sides of bowls. The extra long handles and heavy blades make them nice and stable.

DavidW: Overall these are decent scrapers. I was disappointed that the cutting edges appeared to have been stamped out as the cutting edge was rolled down which required pretty significant grinding to correct. They are beefy and do seem to hold and edge as well as my other M42 HSS tools.

PointyHairedBossPointyHairedBoss: Like many other reviews for this product I found the tools to be good value. I'm glad I read the comments about the lacquer coating on the steel so I was prepared. I built a small immersion tank from some copper pipe scraps so I could soak the tool steel in acetone. I could have used a glass bottle but that would have needed more acetone. It worked like a charm: 20 minutes soaking, no scrubbing then wipe the tool clean. If I'd have only bought 1 tool I would have used elbow grease to remove the lacquer but I also purchased 3 bowl gouges that needed the same treatment so this saved a lot of time & effort. In the 3rd photo you can see how far the tool was immersed - bare steel on the left, lacquer on the right

Matthew: These are amazing quality for the price. You couldn't ask for better. They are thick and heavy duty, also very straight and true. They seem to be of quality high speed steel. They come mildly sharp but are easy to sharpen. I tend to put custom edges on my tools anyway. They are nicly balanced and comfortable to use. If someone told me they were more expensive, I'd believe them. The case is a nice added feature although I tend to keep all my tools together.

Tim: I liked the price, but i should have guessed! Made in China, Amazon needs to put in the discription where the product is made. You get what you pay for..
I had to revise my review, scrapers didnt look sharp, they werent as sharp aa some tools ive bought but they were decently sharp, a bit of honing with a diamond hone took care of them. They did real good inside an Urn i was making.

Mr. D.: Quite a good price for this pair of scrapers. That being said they will need some attention when you get them. I probably would have sent mine back but decided to get to work on them instead. If handling and quality control were better it would be a game changer for these scrapers. The large scraper had several good dings on the cutting edge and a rough handle. The smaller of the two had a great handle with just a minor ding on it's cutting edge. Both tools also had a heavy coat of what appears to be clear lacquer on the handles and complete steel. I stripped the lacquer off with paint stripper on the steel only so it wouldn't bung up the sharpening equipment. I was also able to flatten the back side with the lacquer runs removed. Took considerable time to remove large dings on the Tormek sharpener. In the end and after the attention you have a not bad pair of scrapers.
