I bought this because our son took his diaper off one night without us knowing, luckily he didnt pee but I knew I needed something in case this happened again and we weren't so lucky. The material is super soft and fits the mattress perfectly. It didn't have an odor like some reviews stated (not sure if they fixed this issue). I can officially say this protects against liquid. Our son took his diaper off and peed in the bed. The fitted sheet and mattress pad were soaked. I took them off and was expecting the mattress to be somewhat wet because there was so much pee, but the mattress was completely dry. It was super easy to clean. I purchased a second one as a backup. Definitely recommend!!!

I wanted to come back and add to this review after my son spilled a whole cup of water in his bed. I was expecting to see the mattress wet with how much water was spilled, NOT A DROP on the mattress. This thing is amazing and a lifesaver!

Immy: Purchased this about 9 months ago when we had to purchase a new crib mattress when our other mattress protector failed, and we had to dispose of an expensive foam crib mattress.
I love the design of this, goes on easily and securely. Our daughter drinks a lot of liquid and despite wearing nighttime diapers we still have about 2 leaks a month on average. Its been in the wash a ton and has held up well - we do use a crib sheet over this though. I dont feel this is a replacement for using a crib sheet.
I wish this company would come out with a line of crib sheets that use the same straps to keep it on the mattress!
Bottom line it may seem expensive, but its well worth it!

EDIT: Now - almost 2 years of use...
This protector it still holding up incredibly well. Our almost 3 year old continues to have leaks several time a month and this protector has been washed a ton. Despite that that elastics are still in excellent condition, the top shows some wear, but is still functional and working, the mattress underneath is in like new condition because of this protector.
We are buying our daughter a twin bed shortly, and will be buying her the twin sized PUREgrace...

DreamerDreamer: Please let me preface this by saying I do not usually write long reviews, but as a mom of two under 5's on the ardous hunt for a mattress pad that would actually hold up, I did carefully read feedback. After a great deal of research and comparison shopping, I decided to purchase this pad for full coverage mattress protection to guard against any accidents while potty training my toddler at nightime. Now I have tested this product myself, I can say it is excellent! It does not scrunch up because it has well-made corner straps, it is nice and deep so it covers the mattress fully (unlike some of the mattress pads I looked at, which is a concern because my little one moves a lot in his asleep) and doesn't leak to the mattress underneath. My kiddo loves the clouds on it and how soft it is, and it held up nicely in the wash. Of course the natural, chemical free composition of Tencel is another huge plus. I already knew Tencel is a great fabric as I had previously bought a Tencel car seat cover, and again, I am very pleased with my purchase.
