Imagine going into Costco and buying their Kirkland 2.5 lb. bag of whole bean espresso, roasted by none other than Starbucks! Do a course grind on your beans. Eight ounces of course grind go into the Primula mesh tube. Pour over room temperature water, and let it sit on the counter for 24 to 48 hours depending on how strong you want it. I prefer mine at a 48 hour brew time. Stir it anytime you walk by it. After those 24 or 48 hours, pour it into a mason jar and store in the fridge. Shake the jar before you pour into a glass or mug. Great for reheating. Smooth! NON-ACIDIC! For those of us coffee people who cannot enjoy hot brewed espresso due to heath reasons, this is a great alternative to NOT having to give up coffee altogether. ((For simply me, that 2.5 lb bag of whole espresso beans lasts me almost eight weeks. I make it about every 72 hours.)) One tbsp of Torani sugar free Hazelnut syrup is entirely too heavy, too sweet. Two tsp. of Torani hazelnut is perfect. 2% milk or fat free half and half is excellent.

Annie McPhee: I love this product so much. I bought 2 so that I could have one in process while the back up was brewing or going through the dishwasher. Stopping at a coffee shop for an iced coffee every day or buying cold brew at grocery store really adds up. Also when I make it myself I can use half decaf or whatever combo I like. You can't get that off the shelf at the grocery store. I liked it so much and use them every day on rotation that I bought one for my sister and she loves it too. I highly recommend this item.

Fyrefox: I like a cup of iced coffee now and then, but don't like to pay Starbucks or other coffee house prices. The solution is to buy a cold brewer like this if you're an occasional consumer, and don't want to shell out bigger bucks for a fancier unit. There's no bells and whistles here, fully manual operation, but the brewer works, and for the price of a few store-brewed ice coffees, you've got your own thing. Just add fewer or more grounds to adjust brew strength, and sit it in your refrigerator to brew. Clean up is a bit messy, but we all suffer for what we want, right? And don't drop it, as it does have a breakable glass component. Other than that, a purchase worthy of your consideration!

Raymond B. Jennings III: My only minor complaint is that I wish they made this unit a little bigger. But overall I like this style of cold brew maker MUCH better than the Tody style. As Shaq would say, "you just fill and chill" - literally, you "fill" it with coffee and immediately "chill" it in the refrigerator overnight. The Tody style units you ran the risk of the whole liquid container falling over due to the imbalance of weight, or the filter getting clogged, and you definitely could not put a Tody unit in the refrigerator to chill while the process was happening as the thing is like 2 feet high.

Hbdgbbjgshn: This does the job. I can make cold brewed coffee at home for my iced drinks. For the price, it's worth it. Only complaint is the glass pitcher is a separate piece from the plastic frame/handle. It says to not separate the two pieces, but they slide apart on their own during washing. This is annoying because it makes the glass pitcher a lot easier to drop and break. Also, of you don't separate these two pieces, you will get soapy water in between the two pieces, at which point you have to separate them to rinse them thoroughly. I just wish they were actually attached, that would make cleaning easier.
