theresa bengal: Had a large area of bent fins on my Wall AC Unit from where it was set face down on a screwdriver, I ordered this and after working my way through the combs I found the one that fit perfectly for my unit, slid right into the spacing between fins. I carefully worked the comb up and eventually straightened all the pins. You have to be careful and slowly straighten the fins gently, if you just jamb the comb in the fins and yank on them they will tear, but if you take you time they will straighten back out.

Brian Anderson: Perfect kit to restore your window AC unit to full potential, the external fins are critical for heat dissipation and if yours are smashed or bent flat then it will not work to its fullest potential and could even cause it to ice over or blow warm air. Also good for any mechanic who has had to remove a radiator to access another part, they always get a little damaged in the process, this solves the issue and keeps it from becoming a eyesore for customer cars or even a sorce of overheating in the worst case scenario.

Mr. Richards: Bought this to straighten out the coils on my A/C unit. Unfortunately it did not fit my coils as I needed the next finer size that is not included with this set. They are plastic, obviously and should work fine, but as I lightly drug some of them across my coils to see if they could fit it already started to scuff them up noticeably. I couldn't use them on my A/C but I would suspect that they may only be used a few times before they were ruined. Also I would recommend that you try and straighten out the bad ones by hand before you use these, also it seems to work better working the coils left to right as you move down them, go slow and don't just drag it straight down. Overall, if you are trying to DIY your A/C then this should be fine but if you plan on doing a few might want to get a more professional version. I also bought the universal,
metal one with the small tines and that seems to also work and should last a lot longer than these plastic ones but it works more like a comb and kind of just helps clean/blend up the overall look. Probably should by both products and use them together to get the best results.

I.I.S: I bought these to repair the fins from the back of my window A/C unit. It's 10,000 BTU they absolutely did not help at all, actually bent some fins trying the different sizes none were a match they are too big. I ended up just using a cheap harbor freight hard plastic bristled brush that comes in a multi pack for maybe under $5 bucks which instantly repaired in one swipe most of the less damaged areas. I used a small flat bladed screwdriver to carefully unbend the more heavily bent areas (one area was mashed the blades/fins touching together) and then used the bristle brush to finish and straighten them out that worked great, but this cheap plastic tool actually was too large and would bend the aluminum fins, way over priced too not worth returning but definitely useless for a window A/C unit. Also it began to become damaged the metal ate away at the cheap plastic comb I don't think they would be durable even if they worked for larger gapped fins. This was not a good buy. Go with a scrubbing brush sort of like a toothbrush but sturdier plastic not metal bristled for cleaning auto parts works way better than these.
